K.. ill admit im stumped here.. i look at the wave deformer and the wave and everything looks to be ok but nothing in the scene (hair ect) seems effected by the wave. can someone pls send me to a tutorial or something to straighten this out. would like to have flowing hair and rippling water ect in my animations.. and is there a way to create or mimic fog? i know i seen some in the freestuff before but now i cant seem to relocate it to use.. ive tried useing spheres and such but it always looks cheesy.. :) thanx to all who help in advance. :)

Select a body part. Then create a wave for it. If you move the wave around over the body part. You should see the warping effect it has on the body part. Waves are Basically a form of magnet. Poser doesn't do waves or Fog very well. That's why CL went through all of the trouble to create the ProPack. So that Poser figures can be used in other programs that DO create those effects. Try playing around with the "depth cued" option. That is Poser's version of Fog. The other option is to surround your whole scene with a cube or sphere that has a transmap applied to it to fake the effect of fog. ScottA

I've seen a fog prop at a site that I think is called "Space Stories" and I think the guys name is Anthony Appleyard but that's just from memory. You should be able to find it by searching the members list and checking his free stuff and site. The wave deformer probably works like magnets - you have to go to their properties and tell them which objects you want them to affect.

I made a fog object. It is in the Poser Free Stuff. It is made of many parallel planes and each of these places is not quite completely transparent.

And if you want to go really wild I've got a fog and atmosphere tool in my store, soon be here too. It will do a prety good job of fog, rain, snow, volumetric light. Comes with lots of presets to get you off the ground, as it is a bit tricky to get what you want. (Kind of like photographing real fog!) As for waves and ripples, like Scott said, the best poser can do is the wave deformer. Pretty good for simple stuff.
