I've a little problem with importing new characters from this site. When I've dl it, I extract it, the new character appears in the menu but when I click on it, there's nothing to do...

Its possible that you do not have the associated OBJ (mesh) file that the character is based on. For example there are a number of items in the freestuff for the Victoria figure. If you do not own this figure then the file will not work.

silly question and totally obvious but are you just clicking on the picture or are you also clicking on the tick? to get the figure on either click the tick or double click the picture, just a thought :-)

Can you give an example of a file you downloaded that doesn't work? It could help us track down the problem.

Click on it, then click the check-mark at the bottom? I'm only guessing what you are doing here...

I too have downloaded that character and have had no difficulties, so, the file itself must be fine. When you start up Poser, you'll get the default guy unless you've changed the settings. Call up the 'figures' section where you've put the Angelyna character. Click on her. At the bottom of the library will be single ticks, double ticks, a plus sign, and a minus. You want to click on the single ticks: that's 'change figure', as it will tell you if you let the mouse malinger over the option. You'll get some options having to do with customized geometry just hit return; when you've learned mroe about the program, this will make sense. When you're installing characters, always attend carefully to the Readme file as you may need to place things in very specific locations for the figure to work!

good point strange, there's a lot of stuff out there that doesn't have any folder info anywhere in the archive, some not even in the readme, the first time I downloaded something like that I put everything in the same folder and poser threw a fit, needless to say it didn't stay on my harddrive for long. Before I get lynched by everyone it was a prop made back in early 2000, and it was the 1st and last I've seen by that person

I'm fairly sure PhilC had the answer. I think Angelyna requires that you already own the Victoria figure. Victoria doesn't come with Poser...she can be bought and downloaded at DAZ3D.
