Gonna only focus on the MetaStream Technology... well isn't that a serious kick in the gonads... not just for us, but for them as well. Personally, having had the chance to work a little with MetaStream, I think it needs ALLOT of work. Am I the only one that feels this way? Overall, I was unimpressed with the qaulity and function of it at least the beta technology they had of it and personally I would rather use Cold Fusion or some other program that isn't a pain in the butt to learn and allot more up to date with the industry technology level. I wish MetaCreations luck, but I think they are shooting themselves in the foot as far as the industry is concerned. Jack
heya; well, i think they're NUTS. they're gonna chuck painter, poser, bryce, ray dream, kai's power everything -- a significant portion of the major graphics apps -- and for what? to become meta-commerce? what are they gonna sell with metastream, now that they don't have any 3d (or anything else graphical) apps? i dunno. and good luck to 'em, but i'm not going to invest in their company, now.
Personally, though I think MetaStream is a great product (if flawed... but that's Meta's norm - too many artists as opposed to technicians), this is risky. If they think they're going to go head to head with Macromedia they'll lose. But, when faced with losing 40+ mill a quarter... Don't like it, but....
Okay, call me slow.... How does this affect US, the Poser Community, the users, artists, and assorted hobbyists?

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Well, I know that we might be jumping the gun, but if We get dumped by MetaCreations, I have a copy of the beta patch. It fixed everything I had trouble with. It's about 2500k zipped. I was never asked not to share it. I never aggreed to anything. I never signed anything. Mabey at some point we could make it available. I knew this was going to happen. I knew it. I knew it. Bastards. A very ticked off Anton :(
Anton, fire away! Cage, also very unhappy.

Looks like it's not just the Adult Forum screwing Poser people...MetaCreations is winding up for their final job on us all! Not that I'm unhappy to see their poor excuses for interfaces go down the drain, but "YOU STILL OWE ME A COMPLETE PROGRAM FOR MY MONEY!". Poser has so many bugs I have to reboot an average of 4 times a night...but, you ALL know this. Another company taken over by the Dork accounts without a clue... Kick ASS, Anton! Foxhollow
If Metacreations are slinging Poser and Bryce etc, somehow someone better get hold of as much as possible of their source forms, so that, if no commercial firm takes them over, they can be carried on by an email group of interested people like is with the Gnu matter (see e.g. http://www.delorie.com/). Else it is disaster, like when Honda stopped making its 600 or 650 cc shaft-drive motorcycle which I like so much.
