Can't make up my so-called mind about these...thoughts? Sue

it looks like some strange fractal, run through several photoshop filters, but dammit, it isn't! Is the water natural, or did you do some heavy tweaking? I really can't tell, which I guess is a good thing! This rawks. ry

I agree. It's hard to tell how much is the photograph, and how much is altered. The reflection on the water is just awesome.... the kind of stuff the Bryce people would die for. You must give us some more information about this!

Hmmmm....bottom half of the water looks copied from the top half, but done REALLY well and looks wierdly natural!!! (I say wierdly, coz like Slynk I love the fractality and the chaos of it...) (",)

Thanks folks. There's actually not a whole lotta pshop here. ISO200, 1/90 at f/5.6, handheld with 28-135 IS at 95 mm. It is contrast masked, with levels adjusted on both layers. Background has had curves adjusted somewhat. It's been sharpened and cropped a bit. Oh I think I used a new action to settle down the noise, which is considerable at ISO200. There was nothing done to this image that wasn't done to all of it, and it is all one image. I never thought about it before, but I.m guessing that the mechanical behavior of water IS fractal. That's probably what attracts me so much... I did all of it to make it look like what I remember, but punchier. I am wondering if it is too contrasty now? Phrankpower, who are the Bryce people? Sue

This, and your other water picture, - they just rock. I'm just amazed! Thank you! Britt

This is indeed beautiful. And yes, I think mathematicians would tell you that fluid dynamics is very much in the realm of chaos and complexity theory, which is also where we get the lovely equations for fractals! (Thus endeth the lesson) LOL ;-)>

Sue, These are the "Bryce People"!

JordyArt ( ) posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 2:16 PM

hmmmm...while we're on the subject of Bryce, seeing as how we don't mention it much here, does anyone remember Max Headroom?? Well, the creator of that was a guy called Bryce..... anyone know of any connections? lol (",)

SueO ( ) posted Mon, 03 December 2001 at 2:46 PM

Alpha I looked it up. Contrasty is indeed a word, and I will be happy to smack anybody who doesn't believe it upside the head wit' a dictionary LOL. PunkClown- The worst thing that happens if you lecture is somebody learns sumthin' PhrankPower- Thanks... Sue

Yes JordyArt, I remember MaxHeadRoom, very funny show, even got a few on tape...don't know about a connection with Bryce though!...(but MaxHeadRoom was the very first virtual CG character, to my knowledge..) Alpha, you can smack ME upside the head with a Dictionary if I ever make too much of a habit of it! (Lecturing that is...OH ~ unless I was being paid!)
