...what happened to the thread on what Metacreations did to their staff? The futre of Poser is very important to me. I have a finacial interest in seeing better versions and improvments. I use it in my professional life. I want to talk to others about it and see if we can get some company interested in saving it, or find out if there is one already planning on keeping it alive.

I agree with you, two of the biggest thread made yesterday revolved around the metacreation changes and the Codeman/Zygote dispute and now both are missing from the forum....and for once I do not think it was the forum administrators doing it (at least I hope not and in Codeman's case he apparently deleted his string himself) I am currently undergoing a personal professional armageddon, in fact one that has recently culminated in my resignation. I can tell you that 80-90% of the problems leading up to our situation arose when people and staff and the managers quit letting things be talked about and started sweeping things under the rug. I hope and pray that we are not getting to the point of not allowing OURSELVES to talk freely......In the past there has been a tendancy to not want to tick off metacreations...or Zygote...or a sponsor.... I have always been the first to point out that BBSs and email are lousy communication formats because of the incredible tendancy to misread or misinterpret another's words and intent....but I can sure tell you that NOT talking about something at all is the worst..... Scarab <-frothing at the mouth......out of work too....

That's why I like BBS communication. I go back and read what I put out and re-phrase. I also don't let my clients and friends go off and wonder what the hell is going on. As far as sponsors and other folks... If censorship ever becomes a concern I will simpley go away. After the last time I got told not to open my mouth (my words, not the person involved) I never went back to an differnt site.

Hmmm. I just posted a message where I thought it was very interesting that I found out about what happened to Metacreations yesterday and today I got a mailing to upgrade to Carrara and it disappeared? I titled it "What a Revoltin' Development...." What gives?

Is anyone tempted to purchase Carrara just for the heck of it?

Not after the bugs that one of the engineers was talking about that is plaguing it. Hopefully, after a few people buy talk or complain about it my mind will be more made up at a later date whether I will purchase a product from a company that will no longer support the product once it is released.
