How do I get rid of these Eyebrows on Victoria? They're huge and ugly. I've tried different textures but they're still there!!

They are suppossed to be there. Though not like you have them. Right now you have a whole in her head it looks like since you tried to apply transparancy to the eyebrow material. There is nothing behind there so you see an actual hole. What youneed to do is on the "upper Brow" apply a transparancy map. On the normal eyebrow you simply need to make sure it is the same color as the skin.. Right now it appears you don't have any textures loaded so tht would leave her bald looking but with a texture it works.

Vicky 2 has a dial that makes them go away.

melanie ( ) posted Fri, 14 December 2001 at 8:50 PM

Make sure the transparency is NOT applied to the Eyebrow. 0% on both Max and Min. Put transparency ONLY on the Upper Eyebrow, 100% both Max and Min. That'll fix it. Melanie

Vicky has two sets of brows: Eyebrows and Upper Eyebrows. Vicky 2 does have a "no eyebrow" morph to hide the upper ones. The 3d comic collective (www.3d-cc.com) also has a set of superhero morphs (for vicky 1 or 2 and michael) that include a no brow morph (look in downloads, miscellaneous).

It's the Eyebrow that's causing the problem, however. It has the transparency applied where it shouldn't. I had this same problem when I first got Vicki 2. I figured it out just by experimenting with it I realized that, by putting 100% transparency on the Eyebrow, you're, in essence, drilling eyebrow shaped holes in her head. The upper eyebrows aren't the problem. Remove the transparency from the Eyebrow and the upper eyebrow will appear natural. Melanie

I could be wrong.. but can't you just use "BrowGone" or whatever that morph is named to remove the brooke shields brow?

ronknights ( ) posted Sun, 16 December 2001 at 2:40 AM

BrowGone is not a reliable method. I learned that when trying to do different poses on Vicky. The eyebrows kept coming back.

melanie ( ) posted Sun, 16 December 2001 at 10:31 AM

No, Brows Gone, just flattens them so they aren't raised from the face. The dark color you're seeing is actually a hole in the head created by transparency. Trust me. I had this problem and I cured it by turning off transparency in the Materials pallet to 0% Min and Max on the base Eyebrows, but leaving transparency at 100% Min and Max for the Upper Eyebrows. "brows gone" does not flatten the eyebrows, what that morph does is pull the upper eyebrows into the head. the materials settings for the material labeled "eyebrows" should match "skinhead", "upper eybrows" should be transmapped think of the eyebrow as the skin beneath and the upper eyebrow as the hairs themselves.

And that's why you can't put transparency on the Eyebrows. You're, in essence, opening holes in her face and seeing the darkness of the inside of her head showing through. I've never used Eyebrows Gone on any of my characters. I never remember it's there, but the transparency is the whole problem. Transparency is used ONLY on the Upper Eyebrow. Zorares, give the transparency a try. It'll work. Check out my tutorial on my web site. Melanie
