Subject: How do you Make FORM poses?

arcady ( ) posted Tue, 18 December 2001 at 9:14 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 1:58 PM

The sorts of poses that allow an outfit to match in to the morphs of the figure it is conforming to. Is there a tutorial or application to help in making these kinds of 'poses'?

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

The clothing itself has to be a conforming item, and you have to tell Poser to conform it to the character. After that, you just pose the figure, and the clothing comes along for the ride. There's nothing special about the pose.

To match morphs on the target figure, there have to be corresponding morphs in the clothing. If it doesn't come with them, you need to learn how to use magnets to put them in.

What I'm refering to is poses like those made for Voluptuous Vicky. They allow her to wear standard Vicky clothes without popping out. No morphs are added to the clothes. Just a pose applied. There's a few for sale in the store here for having Vicky's breat morphs not pop her out of the standard Vicky clothes or in the case of smaller have the clothes scale down to her size. They do it all in just a pose file. What I'm wondering is how you make such a file.

Now I'm confused. Are you trying to alter the figure or alter the clothing? All a pose can do for the clothing is scale it or morph it. The pose can only morph the clothing if the morph is already in the clothing or (I think I read something about this next bit recently) if it's one of those special hand made poses that actually carry the morph target inside them so that they install the morph at the same time as they pose it. Either way, you need the morph. If you're talking about poses for Voluptuos Vicky that make her fit inside standard Vicky's clothes then the only thing I can think of is that the pose turns off VV's morphs, basically returning her to normal Vicky. That's easy to do.

Nope. Those Voluptuous Vicky Poses change her clothes. Not Vicky. She keeps her 'Voluptuous' form but her clothes change to match it. Check these URLS: Done as poses: http://www.renderosity.com/~wyrmm/VoluptuousVicki2Guide.htm Done as morphs and magnets from what I can tell: http://www.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=2449 http://www.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=659

Another term for these might be Join Controlled Morphs but I think that's something different. I'd like to know how this kind of stuff is made so I can try making some for the more unusual clothing items as well as for figures other than Voluptuous Vicky (Who I find to be a bit too narrow of hip and wide of chest), such as some of the male figures I've got.

OK, here's a quote from the link you provided: "These files 'FORM' clothing to VV by changing morphs and scale information" Like I said, they just adjust the morphs and the scale. When Wyrmmaster describes them as "FORM" poses, the main thing he's getting at is that they don't carry the normal posing information that adjusts the position of the body parts. They ONLY carry scale and morph info. You can make them like normal poses but after making them you need to open them up in a text editor and remove the unwanted info. You may also need to add the scale info, since I'm not sure that normal poses save scale info. Without opening one of the poses in a text editor, I can't tell you if these poses carry the new morphs inside them. Wyrmmaster could tell you, if you ask him. Or you could open them in a text editor yourself and look for something that looks like morph delta info (lots of rows of numbers). I'd guess he probably did put the new morphs inside the poses, but it's just a guess. In any case, the first step is to make the clothing morphs that will be used by the pose.

Well, I went back and found some downloadable FORM poses to check out. It looks like they call new magnets into being and those do the morphing. Tell me, do you see magnets popping up in the scene when you use the poses? (I don't have Poser on this machine so I can't check).

this is somthing i've been trying to figure out too.posetta peaks is the same as VV the clothes for her have magnets.if you display the mags you can see them and they are in the exact same positions as the mags on PP.when you conform PP clothing to PP it fits perfect or close to it.i'm guessing the mags on clothing are duplicates from PP.i've tried to do this same thing for other characters and clothing but when i conform clothing to figure the mags wankout all over the place.i've tried to change the position of mags, bases, and zones a little so they don't line up exactly hoping this would solve the problem,no such luck.anyone have a clue as what to do?
