Hi first of all i want to thank you for your messages to Sherry and I before i went away for Christmas. You made us smile and very happy :) We both hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :) Ok now i have noticed that when i try to download some of the wonderful files from the freestuff section, most of the times now they just start saving to my temp folder and i have to go and hunt them down amoungst everything that is in there. Not an easy task if you try. Before i usually got a pop up to choose location to download to, you know the usual save as one. Is this a new feature or is it a bug or is it maybe the way the files are upload that is causing this? Thank you God Bless RodPanther

I downloaded a couple earlier today and this did not happen, however I have seen this 'randomley' both here and other sites. I have No idea what causes this, I just always attibuted it to the particular server or method the file is posted? The only place I have seen this 'consistant' is Eric's Prop Club (formally Bbay Club where it happened consistanly as well). Since I am particular about keeping my temp files cleared daily it's never a problem for me, but I have wondered. Depending on your download software and method, mine (IE5.5 SR3 with no funky stuff added) and with WinZip Browser plug-in installed, I get the option to unzip at the end of the download. This way I can direct the unzipping as soon as the file is delivered. For this reason I direct most downloads to C:temp anyway, then 'clean house' at the end of the day.

my friend, from what I heard I think u may have set up your brownser that way, perhaps somehow u may have check a seting that says, hide this window or something like that, meaning your brownser is doing all the work automaticly.... if u have netscape these settings are somewhere under edit preferences, than u must find cause I don't exactly remember where, if u have internet ex. will be under internet settings on your control panel, assuming your are usin blowindows... it may not even you who did anything, sometime a prog will go crazy or so.... anyways my comp almost talks to me....hehehehehehhe hope I've been of some help one other thing, I'd sugest creating a folder called netdownloads or whatever but to make sure u download everything there, .... it will make life a lot easier....

This is weird cause it just happened after i update my Internet Explorer to IE 6 from the beta. I dont know why some downloads go to temp and some give me the save as option. Here are two screens taken just now for two separate files. Any ideas how to fix it would be greatful. I usually save all my downloads to a folder on my desktop, ie November Downloads, December Downloads etc.

Got the same problem, randomness and all. It started happening to me about 2 weeks ago and it really bugs me. I still have not got a solution. Could it be some "GatesLand" server-software-update containing a bug or new option that some download sites have begun to use? Looking for answers as well! STORM
