Ron: This may be a long-shot, but if you haven't done so already, you might want to run a virus-check on your system. Cherokee: I don't think that the Castle Kent castle was ever released, just the furnishings. I remember a post on the subject, four months ago; something about the site's creator getting married and retiring from the 3D community. PoserWorld had a castle in its freebie section a while ago, but it was an exterior set only, and has been replaced now. The Renderosity Marketplace has some nice castle interiors by LordsWarrior and dadamson.

Thanks for the input folks. I've run virus scans on my computer recently, and made sure I had the proper updates as well. Norton Disk Doctor recently said there were some un-recognized partitions on the D drive (there should only be one for the entire drive). I decided to let Disk Doctor analyze the drive in an attempt to repair the "FAT" table. (I guess it is not a FAT table if it is NTFS?!) In the end, Disk Doctor said it found no partitions. So I just said to hell with it and wiped the entire hard drive. I had about 15GB of data, but much of it was most likely already on CD's. I was just trying to repackage things, whatever. I haven't had a chance to put things to the test to see if the drive is ok now. The Maxtor drive is the D drive, or the data drive. The Maxtor drive was the C drive once. I am about ready to uninstall Poser from the C drive, since that is getting pretty cramped. I figure I'll copy the runtime folder over to the D drive, and install Poser there. That way Poser will be the only program on the D drive, and most of the rest of the stuff will merely be Poser artwork, etc. Poser will have the 30GB hard drive mostly to itself, and it won't compete with the Windows swap file for space. The 20GB hard drive only has about 6GB free space now, and some of that must be used by something.

Ooo actually that sounds like the problem with my drive. Have you checked out this page? http://www.maxtor.com/softwaredownload/default.htm try the PowerMax. These programs actually work. And fix some of the problems with the maxtor drives

Well I already have Powermax. I was smart enough to use the floppy that came with the hard drive... It bailed me out of a jam when I got hit by a trojan horse a few months ago. I may fiddle some more, but it's a bit late now, since I wiped the drive. I then copied my Poser runtime folder to the D drive so I could zip it. I got 7GB in the runtime folder, all together. Wow?!

I'm beginning my second day of backing up the Poser runtime folders. I was all ready to make a CD of all the zipped files, but there was just too much stuff. The characters folder alone is over 700MB. I use Powerdesk Utilities, and it lacks a zip spanning utility, so I just selected about half the characters folders, zipped those, and am zipping the second half now. Eventually the runtime folders will be all zipped and backed up into at least 2 cd's. Then I can install Poser on my D drive, and basically start all over again. I want to start with a basic installation, and then install all my Michael and Victoria stuff, then my favorite scenes. All the rest of the stuff will only get installed if I need it. Hah, where have I heard that before?
