Accordingly to the Painter 3D user guide... --------------begin quote----------------- To display/hide the mesh: Choose Canvas menu> Display Mesh. You can also click the mesh icon in the top right corner of the Image window or check/uncheck the Display Mesh option in the expanded Maps Manager palette. Dropping the Mesh : Select the map into which you want to drop the mesh Display the mesh (see above ) In the Maps Manager palette, click the Drop mesh button ----------end quote---------------------------- Hope it helps -D
IMHO Painter 3d sucks rocks - don't bother with it. Sorry :( Use UVmapper to read off the existing mapping and save your template out. Then take than 8bit bmp in photoshop (or image editor of choice) to paint on it. Also, UVmapper can remap models - terribly useful for converting props and such for poser use (since poser does not have parametric mapping to unmapped objects. grrr) Lyrra

I have searched the manuals on both products and here but can not find a very basic idea how to create the great wire mesh 2d image file of a 3d object using painter3d. What command or basic step do I use to create a black and white texture mape file I can paint the textures on (template)? I realize there is a UV mapper utility from others. But doesnt painter 3D do it for you? thanks in advance.
