Once upon a time when a King died the crowd was mourningbut those were gallant times, of honor and values where tribute was paid in full to the ones deserving it! We are all part of a community that grabs in admiration, downloads, enjoys and takes advantage of other peoples generously shared creations we love..BUThow often do we remember to stop and say thank you to the creator? Weve let politics and greediness overcome our mannerswe eventuall heartbreak our kings and drive them to suicide by our vrty own attitude! Who hasnt visited bushis site among the first learning resources as soon as he got poser? Who hasnt got Megabytes of his work in his/her HD wishing someday to accomplish similar masterpieces?yet, we hardly ever say thank you and pay back the minimum satisfaction a hardworking dedicated 3Dartist can get We are ALL so guilty and so much in fault and weve got so much to loose when we wound unintentionally the ones we admire META decided to commit suicide, that we can do nothing about, but we can certainly stop one of our Kings to do the same! The least we can do is to make amends and try to change his mindBUSHI will always be alive for poser-users but we want him around and fighthing as well, he still has tremendous potential to offer to all of us, despite the fact he believes at this moment that hes drained out due to our lack of feedback So join in your voice and sign this if you agree lets try to be the knights who will & keep the MASTER OF PROPS alive! renapd PS: This has nothing to do with the fact that I carry dozens of links to his beautiful work at my own sitehe was so gallant and honorable as always as to offer me full ownership of those beautiful props but I just cant bring myself around to accept this last gift of his! ITS JUST NOT FAIR to such a man!

Add me to the list. I've been neglectful too, I'm sure. I especially love his wings and I, too, dl'ed his eyes. I guess we do get really neglectful of saying thanks. I, for one, really hate to hear that Bushi is closing down his site for now--or for good. Rena and Allie are right--to neglect someone who pumps out free stuff is just plain dumb. And--it goes for all the others who do the same. We just don't thank them all often enough--if at all. Diane B

I expect Bushi is going thru the same thing as all the "creators" do...very little feedback or even a simple "thanks" from all who take and use your hard work. I reside on both sides but am still guilty of not dropping a little "thanks" when I come across some usefull item. I know I get about a .00001% "thankyou" rate on any of my stuff....it's just the nature of the game...you do have to go into it with this in mind if you're going to give yourself away. This still is NO excuse....and here's my THANKS BUSHI! for all you've done to further our understanding and use of Poser...it just wouldn't have been the same without you! Foxhollow

Bushi, Thanks for being a mentor to many of us in the ways of poser files. I've never used any of your props, but I studied your methods when I first began to build figures. You have been, without a doubt, a pioneer on the user end of the software... and for that, I thank you. I certainly hope you continue to lead the way, even if it isn't in a "public" capacity. Best of luck in your future endeavors. -Rob

Bushi From wings to eyes Your props and such have a huge place in my files. Thank you for every image your items has prompted me to create, thank you for everything you have taught me and thank you for sharing all your fantastic work. You are definately a Master at what you do. Stormrage

Bushi: I have bought Poser 3 when I saw your site. I have only played with Poser 2 before but I didn't like it. I'm really sorry for your feelings. I think that you have shared a lot of good tips to all of us. AL

Ok... I don't think I've ever even 'found' bushi's site. One of the problems in the poser community is that people mention sites all too often without mentioning the URL. After a while you get tired of firing up the search engine... Most of the poser sites I know of I found by back tracking the URL of something I got from the freestuff downloads. I think I read something were Bushi was closing down due to people not visiting enough anymore? Well... with this agressive 'anti-self-promotion' in this community I can see why. Those who have been there for a long while have done it all and been there. Those of us who are new can't find it. And on the lines of lost sites... what about Hokusai? There's one that gets a few messages a week on this or other poser resources/lists/forums for people looking for the stuff and yet the site cannot be found nor has anyone come forth to help Hokusai put his stuff up in an accessable location. The Poser/Bryce community is a very verbose one. But it's plagued by some odd problems in the lack of connectivity of data.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

I thoroughly enjoy his wings and other work..why would he think that no one appreciates him :) Just look at the sheer number of people that use his props and such in their creations..that's evidence enough that what he's doign is appreciated :) Go Bushi go Bushi :)

I agree with just about everyone here... One one hand if you download something and use it (and like it) you should say thank you and give some kind of feedback... that's plain good manners. (My mommy taught me that;) On the other hand you can't really expect people to do that. I'm sure I don't have to explain myself on that one ;) How many of us have downloaded a prop that we dig, and never give thanks? Just look at the numbers... and look at peoples images that use your objects. Often, that is thanks enough. :) Because of this thread I will try to start giving feedback to the people whose creations are on my harddrive. I'll probably be sending email for months trying to catch up ;) I'm also going to have to agree with arcady about lack of info. I've never heard of/seen Bushi's site. The messages on this forum scroll off pretty fast and it's really easy to miss something. If the link isn't on the side --> chances are I haven't been there. I'm positive that if I had known I would have been there every day clogging up my memory with lots of props ;) Thanks renapd for the much needed heads up :) --Kristyn--

I'm one of those goofy chicks who didn't think my thank yous were all that important.. Yeah I know, I know.. I have thanked a few over the year but thought my e-mails were too gushy and annoying so I stopped.. I have signed guest books but that's probably not enough.. I assumed Bushi and others like him got tons and tons of e-mail every day.. I was wrong apparently.. =( Bushi's site was one of the first ones I visited when I got my Poser 3 a year ago.. I thought his stuff was totally awesome and I am thankful for every download I made and make... I am now beginning to learn the art of modeling and I appreciate the time and work that goes into even the simplest creation.. Probably a lot of people who download this free stuff are a lot like me... Stoopid... When I joined the Poser Forum (Renderosity now) a year ago I hadn't a clue how much work modeling, texturing, and character creating was... I'm beginning to understand now... Thanks Bushi for your contributions to the Poser world and beyond.. You will definitely be missed... As for the links well, I never had any trouble finding any sites.. When you go to one site there usually is a link list which link you to others.. I can't believe Arcady you didn't find Bushi's site from another site... There a tons of links that links you to more links..There is the forum here too.. All anyone has to do is ask.. I think I have visited every Poser related site out there.. If I haven't, then someone byte me... I'll be more mindful in the future now and start sending out my annoying, gushy thank yous but really I'm thankful to you all even the ones who I havn't downloaded from... =) ~Cindy

One of the saddest lessons in life is learning to appreciate something only after it is gone. We keep being taught that lesson over and over to no avail. The same goes for Bushi. I, personally, got to know Bushi and his creations through you Rena and yet I didn't take the time to thank him and others for offering their hard work to us. I don't expect anything I can say now will remedy things, I just hope someday to get this lesson right. And, Bushi, another lesson I learned in life is that it is never too late, so give us a chance to say thank you albeit belated.

As a first time contributor yesterday, I saw the download numbers adding up and very few comments on my forum entry announcing the new hair. I wasn't really looking for thanks, per se, but was interested in what people think of it. It is my first 3-d model forged entirely by my "hand" so I was a little nervous about how it would be recieved. I knew it looked pretty good to me, but I was also aware of the piece's flaws, and wondered if anyone found the flaws to be so annoying that the piece was just junk. So, I whined :) Now, I've got lots of comments that I really appreciate and I can't wait to see what people do with it in the gallery. The comments encourage me to make more stuff and post it. In fact, I may just make a whole poser site if I can find the right host. I will be making a LOT of stuff as needed in the upcoming year and will share it as much as possible. One thing that may be annoying though is that I will be making character specific clothing/morphs that may or may not be useful to anybody. For example, last night I made a new and improved t-shirt using magnets so that my character's breasts would be concealed. It looks great on her, but I doubt it or the morph target would help anyone else much. (I do seem to be developing a flair for magnets though, so I might take requests on days where I have poser block) Anyway, I'm babbling. I don't think I've ever used bushi's stuff, but I know my three heroes, Allie Traveller and Nerd have gotten many nods and thanks from me. And I sure do love Poser World. -Darth_LOgice

I am probably one to blame for not being grateful enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you that make this webpage the wonder that it is. Since I have found this place, I visit at least once a day just to see "what's new" and to enjoy the many wonders that so many talented people have created. Thank you.

We all walk in the sun but seldom do we lift our eyes to gaze directly at it. Now moon and stars we will behold. But the sun sustains us yet our eyes can not bear its brillance. Perhaps, at least for me, it is similar here. Often I hesitate to email or acknowledge for fear of being a bother and an annoyance. To me Bushi, and artist like him, are much like the sun and it is more comfortable for me to view their light reflected in the moon and shadow that encompose their work than look directly at the source.

If you have noticed I don't post very often, but this is very important to me. Bushi I have downloaded just about everything you have made. I wish to thank you for making it possible to do what I do. If I, in the begining had not found your site I would have never tried to use poser again. If I ever have half the insite and knowlage that you have about this crazy stuff called 3d-art, I will think I am worthy of sending you something. The greatest teachers you ever have, you seldom get to thank. So thank you...thank you. Your friend skee.

NOTE: No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large
number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Every artist needs to be told that his or her work is appreaciated and even needed. Sometimes that is the only pay we recieve. Sometimes that is the only pay we really need! Bushi, your work is inspiring. I understand your dilema. You work so hard to make props and figures, and then feel that no-one really feels what you feel when you make them. You feel like what you do is just not worth the effort and like so many good artists, you burn out. The magical "flow" goes away. However, there is one way you can see the worth of your work even if folks (myself included) don't take the time to say "thanks"... Just look at the number of times your stuff has been downloaded. Bushi, you will see just how invaluable you are to all of us here at Renderosity. You are a beacon in a sea of confusion. Do not give up, do not give in. Be what you are and create. With Deepest respect and admiration, Styxx

Even though I haven't posted all that much, I've had over a Gig of transfers, probably closer to 2 Gig. I've had 2 thank you's, 1 included a request for a special, non-profit project, and 1 thank you that also let me know that part of a file was missing. One person used a prop as the focus of their picture and didn't give any credit in their summary on Renderosity. Oh, well. I get a kick out of looking at my stats for downloads. "They like me; they really like me!" In some ways I'm a private person. If I got a ton of thank you's for what was downloaded, I'd go nuts. I'm also paranoid, like Byte, assuming that any e-mails I send will be sappy and annoy the recipient. Sorry, Bushi, if it hurt your feelings that I didn't comment. Your work is very much appreciated.

Bushi, If you see this, I haven't begun to use your work yet, but I have downloaded it and it is great. The fact that you offer props and tools for free is just wonderful and whether or not I've used them makes no difference. I appreciate you for the artist you are and the generosity you've shown.
