My only thought is that it looks a little faded, as though it were tattoed on her several years ago. Try upping the contrast and increasing the saturation so the colors become more vibrant -- not much, you understand, but something where the black is closer to a true tattoo blue/brown black and not your current grey.

looking good!!! You are on the right way. In my matter of taste it should be smaller and i think the colors will turn out better. in the tutorial section there are some tuts and some free tattoos also in the freebee section.Have a look and have fun

We're in the realm of personal taste once more. I like it, like the fade..tats fade, mine have (I knew I should not have used those stick on tattoos). I do feel that the overall shape is too round, perhaps rough the edges up, but basically I think you're on the way to a really nice skin. Can't wait to see the finished result and I do feel that you're so close it's hardly worth doing anymore to it Mon

Looks very good, I too like the faded look. maybe a little too big, but that's just my taste. good work : ) Jutta

It's very nice. Personal taste-wise, a little on the blue side for a tiger, but I do like the fading; they do fade. When I got my tattoo I actually asked the guy to make it a sort of brown/burgundy/purple rather than black so it would fade to stawberry freckle rather than grey. :)

Looking most excellent,in the very early stages you say? I think the faded apperance gives it a nice "real" touch. In the personal taste dept. id agree that its just a little too big on the back. great work , looking foward to seeing its further devlopment. Happy rendering, JWKub

I think the fading is too much considering the "youth" of your model. In an older model you might see that much fading, but she would have had to have been kind of young to get a tatoo that faded by now. Just my opinion. Looks good other wise, though on the back I would think you would have the whole tiger. You are on the right track though, moving faster and farther then me. 8^) Marque

Hi, Well, as a man with a "full sleeve" myself my only comments would be that women don't tend to have loins tattoo'ed on them, Blackhearted's stuff is far more accurate in that respect :) As for the colour, well, it's a myth to think that all tattoo's are edged in black, and consists soley of bright primary colours. Some of the new "fine line" work that people are having done these days, especially from the new breed of tattooists, fresh from art schools, are capabale of emulating photography, and as such "block colour" is far less the rule than it was. One of the most amzing tattoos I ever saw was a "watercolour" underwater frieze of a rainbow trout swimming through the vegitation. It was on a man's calf/shin, but no less remamrkable for it. the detail was incredible! later jb

Are you using pshop? I found that setting the tat on a layer set to 'hard light' worked beautifully. That way if your skin has texture/imperfections/color variations they show through the tatto like in RL. I've only made 3 skins with tattoos - Old Wolf and Yakuza from my Shades of Mike project, and another one 'Silk' for a yet-to-be-released store character. (tribal, dragon (see it in my bryce gallery) and vine with wild roses) My biggest complaints with poser tatoos are lousy original graphic quality (started with a yucky gif or jpg) and scale problems - too many people make the tattoos an unrealistic size. Take the time to flip through some tattoo mags before you start to work - that'll give you an idea for average size and location. As well as a look at some amazing artwork (and interesting characters) Just my .02 :) Lyrra

Tam, Ah, well, black panthers, (presumably with the requisite red claws on biceps :) are a totally different "kettle of fish" to lions faces. I made rather an extensive study of both tattooing and the current state of the art before I got "marked" Mine is an "original" tattoo, meaning a design found on the preserved body of a tribal chieftan of the culture (Scythian, proto Russian) thought to have originated the art. I tend to favour "skin deep" as a magazine, it's an independant British mag, that seems far less invloved with the "underground" culture of all the others I read. The pictures are better too :P later jb
