It sounds like you need to delete a keyframe for the Z rotation at the point it flips. Set the box in the correct position and set another keyframe for it. Also, make sure you have the "Auto Key" feature turned off while doing this. It tends to add many more keyframes than you want for everything in the scene. You could also try creating your own motion path instead of using the preset path. It takes a little longer but you can at least be sure only the keyframes you make will be there. Good luck.
Well, its definetly not the key frames theory, due to the fact that if you rotate the path on Y axis, the problem moves in relation to the path (or stays parallel to world Z. And this preset path was only an easy way for me to show what was happening, I am using a motion path that has been changed to a geometric path because i need more than one object on this path. But I appreciate your help just the same.
I don't know about B5, but in B4 objects turn around on the curves when they are too tight. If this is the case you need to smooth out your curve and make it looser. By that I mean increase the diameter. This happens on every animation I do and it happens with trajectories as well as paths. I had hoped it would have been fixed in B5.

Ok, someone please try this: Select a preset path, either
the oval or the circle, then attach a box and align to path.
Next, animate the box moving all the way around the path.
When the box reaches (or is parallel with) world Z, it
suddenly does a 180 flip on its Z axis. This is very frustrating. Am i forgetting something? thanks for any
help you might have,
