THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Trick to simple yet precise poser character imports into bryce

I posted a request on how to get two or more interacting poser objects into bryce and got a really good response (from someone who's name I've forgotten). Anyhow, I've found an even easier trick to getting the characters perfectly aligned. After you have setup the characters in poser, comletely encase all of them in a cube (or sphere). Then export the individual characters and include the encasing cube with each character. Then in Bryce, for each character, import the object and delete the encasing cube. You will be left with the original characters exactly aligned with each other, and the maps may come with them as well). Two clues to this, 1) Bryce imports same size objects to the exact same coordinates and size, and 2) by including the same encasing object in each character object export, you ensure perfect alignment. It simple and extremely easy. No parts selecting etc. Of course, everyone peobably knew this except me, and if that's the case please excuse the bandwidth. Reed

Damn that is a wonderful idea - but I thought you could export Poser figures without doing that? I thought you could export the whole figure as one... Or, are you talking about Poser Scenes - with the Poser character and extra things around it? tracy-ann

It's not a problem if you import just one poser character. For example, if you have a model standing and one sitting, when you import the models separately, the sitting figure will be as tall as the standing model. So you have to scale the sitting model down. This isn't a bad problem but when you have two or more models interacting, like a dancing couple and one is off the floor, it gets to be a real problem because the models get imported in different places and at different sizes. Understandable - then your idea will match them all up because the outside box will be the center for Bryce to import too :) Very very good idea :) tracy-ann

Wish I'd read this before I imported my last two interlocking figures. What a brilliant idea! Diane
