Subject: Physics model extension news

A prior post suggested contacting Eovia about getting the physics stuff to work if you are a C1.1 user with a C1.0 CD.
Their response was as follows:

Truly, I do not know the exact procedure but I bet it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out. With consideration given to business etiquette and/or political correctness, it probably wouldn't be very prudent of us to make such information readily available anyway.

In any case, we should get license for use very soon.

It's about time I got tired of waiting and installed the version 1 physics into version 1.1. All you have to do is copy three files from the Carrara 1.0 "Ext" folder to the Carrara 1.1 "Ext" folder. The files are WmDme.dll Physics.dta Physics.mcx (I think thats the right extension I'm working from memory on this one. The post that I found on the Carrara's Yahoo group had the wrong file extension so I just copied the two files that said Physics and the DLL)

I ended up copying the files also.

what are the physics models you speak of? (forgive me. i just began using carrara two months ago beginning with version 1.1)

You can apply real life forces to objects to simulate gravity and directional type forces. So instead of starting an object at point A and then setting point B and applying a tweener, you can set the object at point A, apply a force and let that force control the actual movement and outcome.

Pixelicious, the physics were included in the first release of Carrara by Metacreations . When Eovia released its own version, the physics plug-in was not included because of some licensing issues . They promise it will be back in Carrara, though .
