My wife told me today that it was time to get rid of the pumpkins that I'd had on our back deck since last Halloween. Indeed, they were well past their prime, and I had to take a few shots before performing the mushy removal task. My advice would be to not wait until February to remove outside pumpkins from the previous Halloween!

Interesting how some hold out more than others.

Close-up of the inside of a collapsed pumpkin. Actually, the seeds are fine. The rotten exterior protects them throughout the winter, and also provides excellent nourishment when they start to grow in the spring. I hope this didn't gross out anyone too much. Maybe I can post my new next generation pumpkin vines by May!

Could you get a shot of a new, tender shoot coming up from a rotted old melon carcus? Joe

Yeah. Go ahead and eat those seeds. Get right on that.

WOW! I didn't notice the half face on the top right pumpkin, but now when I see it I can't believe I never noticed it before. Good job!

..You like the "shaky-cam" GIF animation effect? (Thank you Jasc Animation Shop)

Well, it does get your attention. Would be great for personal e-cards.

Could you get a shot of a new, tender shoot >coming up from a rotted old melon carcus? That way, don't need to clean the deck yet. You could tell wife it was Finder's idea...
