Does anyone know if there is a big differens between photoshop6 and photoshop elements because I've woorked with photoshop6 a bit and thinking of bying it, but then I saw elements and as far as I can tell the only big differens is that it is not possible to work CMYK-colors and it's only 1/10 of the prize, anyone knows more?

Elements? Is this like LE, or Light Edition? If it's LE, you might also have trouble installing some plug-ins, but its essentially the same PS.

I have Photoshop 6.0, but would have bought Elements instead if it had been available at the time. Don't get me wrong, Photoshop 6.0 rules, but I could have saved a bundle if I had gotten elements instead. I've read a lot of reviews and I've only heard good things about Elements. It is a lot better than Photoshop LE was and also has a history palate (which I wouldn't live without). Why don't you download the Elements Demo and check it out. When I'm not sure about software that's what I do now and it has saved me big bucks. The demo should be able to show you if it will do what you need it to do. I know it is lacking some of Photoshop's features, but if they are features that you would use is another question.

Could you please tell me what the lacking parts is, cause I've tried it and can't realy see any big differenses.

I don't think that Elements has vector drawing tools, paths, and channels like full blown Photoshop does. I understands paths are a more precise way of making selections and I have used the alpha channels for masks and compositing elements from Poser scenes into other pictures. I don't think it has the color calibration tools of photoshop either, which is more geared towards professional print work than an amatuer like me would ever need. However, Elements does have some special effects and correction tools that aren't found in Photoshop, like the red eye removal brush and (I think) Impressionist Brush. I don't know if the Adobe website has a more consise list or comparison of features. After giving it further thought, perhaps regular Photoshop does have more things that I will be able to grow into, but Elements is no slouch either. You might get some other view points if you post your question on the Photoshop forum, give it a whirl. I hate Photoshop LE because it was really apparent that it was missing major features, I think Adobe tried to make elements a more complete program so that consumers could have a good image editor without the hefty price tag.

I don't believe Elements has curves. This one feature, when one learns how to use, can become indispensable. OK, maybe not indispensable, but pretty darn handy. Elements is really good. I have it, and I also have Paint Shop Pro. They both cost about the same, but Paint Shop Pro does have curves, so I find myself using that almost exclusively. I am a photographer, and if you don't need to touch up photographs, you could probably easily live without curves.
