Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
I went and downloaded the above, but I am wondering: if dxf has no UV coordinates, is the above program of any use in Poser? Can you convert to .obj and map in UV mapper? If so, how would creating a new map affect the ability to successfully apply the image around which the object is constructed in Geometra? Will it work?

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
I can't answer your question for sure Cage but you could always convert the DXF with Explorer 3D or by importing to Poser or Bryce and re-exporting in obj format and remapping your model using UV mapper. What grabbed my attention (apart from the FREE bit) was the posibility that it can work with curved surfaces. Good for model creation from photos. BTW you can also download the manual and other help pages from the site (I just did). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know the conversion will work, and the mapping should, too. I am wondering how well one might actually apply the texture of the original image to the object. If it is anything like a Canoma object, I get headaches just contemplating it.

All, Geometra does export in .obj (and .3ds) formats with attached texture map, no need for converters and other utilities. This feature is not enabled in the demo program though! As for curved surfaces, Geometra will do those (like the face posted by STORM) as it works with meshes instead of primitives.
