I once knew of a site .. that had alot of tutorials and the person sold textures. If you know what im talking about please reply!

Uhmm...you might try 3dplants.com, they have lots of free plant meshes and you can buy the Delvin Forest CD there, which has tons of different tree meshes. Bryce5 has a great tree generator and if you search back a couple of pages there are some good threads about making dense forests you might find useful. Good luck.
