Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
The only time I did this was when I made my Gerry Anderson UFO series alien in a spacesuit model :: I had to attach 2 extra body segments helmet' (which rotates on its seating) and
faceplate' (which lifts). In that case I did it by hacking his CR2 file with a text editor, but I had to be very careful and know exactly what to do and what I was doing.
It's quite a simple solution really. When you have your model just as you want it (make sure you parent everything that needs it) save as a PZ3. Next close poser and rename the PZ3 file to CR2 Now open up CR2Editor and edit the lights, camera etc from the CR2 (everything that isn't part of the models) and save it. Put the CR2 in a character folder and open up poser. Load your new character. Now save the figure again in the characters library, make sure you use a different name than the original CR2. Now close poser and go to the folder where you stored the original CR2. You should now have 2 CR2 files and an RSR file (eg: myfile.CR2, myfile2.CR2 and myfile2.RSR) Delete the second CR2 (myfile2.CR2) and rename the first CR2 to the same name as the RSR file (myfile.CR2 to myfile2.CR2) You should now be left with two fully working files, a CR2 and an RSR to go with it. Open up poser and try it out.
If you have a modelling program, do this to get a Combined Figure- In the modeller, line up the parts you want to use, deleting the unwanted parts. Then export it as one mesh. See Mason's tutorial on this. Also, if you don't have a modeler, BUT the parts ARE already lined up, then you can use Compose to do this. If the parts aren't lined up, you might try exporting from Poser after you've set up the character (only export the parts you want). Then follow the rest of Mason's tutorial.

I want to replace the Hooves of the Zygote Demon with the back Paws of the Poser lion. I've turned off all of the lion, except the back paws. And, I turned off the demon's hooves. I've aligned the demon's legs with the paws. Now, how do I permanently attach the paws? Also, how do I get rid of all the garbage in the file,(the body parts made invisible)? HELP?!?
