Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

I have been requested to upload a small tutorial I made some time ago in answer to a question at Renderotica. This no longer exists there as it and all other threads were removed some weeks ago to speed up their server (it may be back there in the meantime but I have not been there for a while). Anyway for Barbarellany and the others on thread http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=567385 here you go!

1. Load up your Michael figure, select Body. 2. Go to Menu/Window/Joint Editor. The Join Parameters Dialogue box should appear. Make sure you have "Body" selected; click on the "Zero Figure" option. (see upload pic#1 above).

See upload pic#2 above for all the details of this stage. 3. Select the Genitals, (do not move the Michael figure) open Menu/FileExport/Wavefront Obj, the "Export Range"dialogue box with single or multi frame export opens (1), stick with the default single frame export. 4. Next the "Hierarchy Selection" Dialogue Box opens (2), de-select everything by unchecking the Universe box in the hierarchy, scroll down to genitals and x the box. Click OK. 5. Next the "Export as" Dialogue Box opens. Save your file as whatever you like in Wavefront Obj type (3) and click OK. 6. Finally the Object Properties Export Box appears (4). Uncheck everything except as "Morph Target (no world transformation)."

7. Go to Menu/File/Import/Wavefront OBJ and find your saved Michael Genitals prop and click OK. In the Import Dialogue Options Box uncheck "Percent of standard figure size" and "Centred." Only leave "Make polygon normals consistent" checked (see uploaded pic #3). Your prop should import directly over the Michel Genitals. 8. Save it to the prop library. Note: do not click on the imported prop or any elements in the scene to select them as you could accidentally move them. Instead use the Figure/Body part/prop etc. selection menus below your scene window. 9. Delete the imported prop and Michael figure from the Poser Screen. 10. Load the saved library prop back into the scene. 11. Load up MTs and save the prop with morphs back to the library.

NB: The above post heading should read: Stage 3 - importing the Genitals prop and loading morph targets. See upload pic#4 above 12. Load up Victoria or your chosen figure. I am using Vicky 2 supermodel (Daz) with Jim Burton's SMV morphs. Use the y and z Trans dials the x Rotate dial and Scale dial to fit into position. It helps if you make Victoria's Buttocks and Thighs invisible (Hierarchy Editor) while doing this. See pic#4 which includes the dial values I used for Vicky 2. 13. Save the prop back to the library under the name Vicky 2 genitalia prop (or anything). This will keep your settings for Victoria safe.

14. Next Parent the Penis Prop to Victoria's Hip; Select the prop click on Menu/Object/Change Parent. In the dialogue box scroll down to Vicky's "hip" and select it. Do not select inherit bends of parent, click OK. See upload pic#5. Remember to parent the Genitalia prop to Victoria's hip each time you load it up. Have fun STORM

I would just go try this right off the bat, but I'm at work so I'll just ask: will this work on Vicki 1 or other figures? It seems like it should.

STORM3 ( ) posted Tue, 12 February 2002 at 11:06 AM

It will work with any figure you like (you could even attach the prop to the camel! ;0) ) so long as you follow the tutorial exactly. The only difference being that the positioning and scaling of the genitals prop would be different with a camel. ;0000000) During the "Pink Pony Saga" I was tempted to post a Pink Unicorn with an inherent gentic defect, but I resisted. ;0) If you don't have Michael you can do exactly the same with the P3 or P4 Dork. There are plenty of Genitals morphs for the Dork around Just follow the routine exactly to the point where you have saved the Prop back to the library with working Morph Targets installed. I have done the same with Eve's hip area which I have parented to a Vicky 2 figure with all the Eve morph targets working. If you have access to a modelling program you can further morph the Eve hip so that only the genitalia area shows through the Vicky mesh. The result is the most realistic Vicky 1/2 around and all for free thanks to Torino, Traveller and others. In addition you can then create morphs for the Eve hip prop to blend it in with Vicky 2 when using full Body Morphs such as Barbarian, Emaciated etc. Texture maps are also easily created. Regards STORM

Note my Eve Genital prop is parented to the Vicky 2 Hip (unlike Ghastly's which if I remember right replaces the Vicky 1 hip with the Eve hip) the result is that Vicky 2 looses none of it functionality in FBMs and ordinary MTs. In addition if I want to use clothing it is a simple matter to just turn it off in the Hierachy editor.

LOL -- I'm sorry, but between this and the post last night from the guy who morphed Vicky into Michael... Dorkerina, where are you when we need you???

They're waiting on the Michael version, I tell you!

The mind boggles, even poser figs are in need of sex cahnge ops. And I thought it was only a human thing.

If you'd care to comment on the implications for working with texmaps...?

STORM3 ( ) posted Tue, 12 February 2002 at 3:10 PM

Using the above method the prop keeps its UV mapping. The props have their own UV/Tex maps. So if you want to enlarge the area it occupies on the Michael body map, export the prop from Poser, open UV mapper, load model, select all, hit the * key until it fills the map, save the, map and the Model. Import back into Poser. It is better to do this before you apply the MTs after point 8. in the tutorial and then save the remapped prop to the library and continue. Same with the Eve hip. Hope this answers the question. STORM

Map top left, exported prop model inherent UV mapping. Map top right, prop map enlarged a few times in UV mapper. Map bottom, new planer map X axis. Hope this helps STORM

STORM3 ( ) posted Tue, 12 February 2002 at 3:39 PM

One of the problems with the Eve hip prop is blending the Eve prop with whatever Vicky body texture you are using. It is quite a skilled job as you are dealing with two different texture maps at different resolutions. However, and I have not tried this yet, there may be a way to do this in UV Mapper Pro with the open GL 3D model view and importing Vicky and the Prop into UV mapper Pro and using the PS/PSP live update and 3D preview feature. Is there an argument for using this method as opposed to Lee Moon's snapon Penis and Testicles morphing props? I often use that becuase IMHO the p4 and Mike's penis doesn't look real enough. Also it's very hard to get a good 'flaccid' pose without odd things happening. Lyrra PS didn't some odd person make a 'ms Olympia' female bodybuilder from Mike2?

STORM3 ( ) posted Wed, 13 February 2002 at 2:33 AM

Yea if you can get it.
I have it but from what I understand it is impossible to get, or was until recently.

Personally speaking I think it does not work as well as it could (no disrespect to Lee Moon). I think there are far too many faces (nearly 10,000) for what it does and they are mainly triangles which my Poser don't like so much.

The Mike prop has less than 900 faces in quad form which my Poser likes. I actually started to model a new prop some time ago but have not had the time to finish it. In the meantime the existing MIke/Dork one is a good solution for most.

I think Ms. Olympia is by Arduino, Mike as a woman. If this keeps up the Daz Camel might still be in with a shot. Camilla how are you! ;0)

Any way you could expand on step 11?
