I would expect the dxf format would be your best choice and it SHOULD work. This format CAN transfer surface data. The CAD system you are transfering to may not read surfaces in it's importer. It could also be a matter of all the normals getting reversed in the process and the mesh not appearing to have any surfaces. Foxhollow

Can OBJ files be converted to any file type which a CAD/CAM system uses? As a project for a friend I have spent the past month trying to convert a character I have created in poser to a file that can be read by a CAD/CAM system. It seems no matter what file type I am able to send, be it DFX or STL Stereolithography the picture shows up on my friends screen as a mesh of triangles with out any surfaces. Is there a specific process I should use, am I doing things correctly or could there be some error at my friends computer between the keyboard and chair? Please if anyone can help me I would be most grateful. Thanks.
