Subject: Walk around a Ball

Hallo, I would like to know if its possiple to make a walkin Path (I will export it to Cinema4D) thats not just flat. Ive got a ball which I would like my Charakter to walk on. I just see the possibility to manipulate the walkpath in X an Z direction. Can somebody help?

I don't know for sure that it can't be done, but if no-one can help you with it, you might be able to approximate the same thing by rolling the camera during the animation.

I've done it by first creating the (x and z) walk path. Then when that's done, turn inverse kinematics off and adjust the Y coordinate of the hip so the character follows the terrain. It's a pain. It requires a lot of fine tuning. This is the only way I know of doing it. I hope this helps, Ericroy

Ok this is just an idea, but I've gotten something sorta like this to work.(only not in cinema) It takes a little experimentation to get the walk timing right, but it might work. How about make the charactor walk in place and then rotate the ball just below the ground plane and animate the camera to follow the ball. You could scale the ball, or add/subtract steps to get the timing right.
Just an idea...
