Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 20 11:41 am)
I recently realized that part of my splitting problem was being caused by the layout of the groups themselves. Ideally, the edges of one group should touch only one other group. If the edge touches two or more groups, splitting will occur.
That probably isn't a concise explaination of the situation, but it is difficult to explain without illustrations.
Autogroup is great at doing most of the gruntwork, but I have to go in manually and fine-tune the groups.
Of course I'm using auto group. That's the wonder of Poser, isn't it. The app does all the grunt work for you, right? But even when I go back and adjust the groups, I'm still getting the same problem, except the break takes place where the new break is. One thing I've noticed is that you can't tell where the vertices are in Poser, which I'm not used to. It makes grouping a lot easier. Also, in other apps, it's a good idea to have vertices near joints in groups on both sides of the joint. In poser, you apparently can't do that.

I'm still having trouble keeping my meshes from spliting after boning and grouping. I am using the weld group tool. Any suggestions?
