Okay - as requested... here is a image of a tank I'm working on - I'm trying to make it so that it has no straight edges on the body... however, I can't seem to curve them edges at all :( Also does anyone know what DoGa is?? I keep seeing it being mentioned on Space Station - but don't know what it is... tracy-ann

Did you try Edit mesh? If not click on the E icon next to the selected mesh. It will take you to the edit mesh dialog box where you'll want to crank up the red bar then click on smooth. That should do it. DOGA is a program that has pre-made parts for assembling a model. Neal

Tracy, the numbers you see in the edit box are degrees - they limit the maximum angle between 2 faces to smooth. Don't forget to save your work before smoothing. Unsmooth brings you back to triangles! Nandus

Okay - I have done that a few times... however, it still isn't doing anything... Ie the side edges of the body just arn't going to change to something more smoother... I was hoping the it would round the edge but it doesn't wanna (I might have to remodel it I think :( ) Um - okay DoGA is a premade model parts then - for animation - any one used it? Why would I think about using it? I'm looking for things to help make models, and to help do textures. Tracy

Tracy, To smooth, you must left click on the smooth sphere at the left. You'll see the polygon's count beeing displayed there. Edit/smooth is a weird function. It doesn't smooth some corners in low polygonal count meshes because, as you can't bend a polygon, there's nothing else to smooth. Look at your mesh and try to figure out if it's possible to smooth the corner without bending any triangle. If you already tried angles greater than 90 deg, the only way is to go back to your modeling program and round the corners. BTW, what did you use for modeling?

Nandus,

Nandus, I am using Rhino to model, and I can't figure out how the hell to bend/smooth corners in that program at all :( Which is a problem... I can't even get a good tutorial on it... Hell even their manual is a little useless :)) Any Ideas?

Never used Rhino Tracy. What if you make some boolean with cilinders along those edges to rond them? I'm sure I've been to some sites with Rhino tutorials, but can't remember where :( My advice: repost your tank and your question to 3D app forum, and don't forget to mention your Rhino problem. Sorry for not beeing able to Help. Nandus
