Found this on dpreview.com.....seems like it could be a decent point and shoot....you could at least get your feet wet with it. Fixed focal length lens is kind of a bummer though.I am, therefore I create.......

A useable camera, bud. The resolution is pretty much the same as what I use as standard for most of my normal pics these days (only use higher for special pics) but you may want to up that 8mb a bit with a card. If I'm not mistaken the batteries for that one aint too bad, so get yourself a spare and you've got something that should go everywhere with you and will give you pretty good service. (",)
You'll definitely need more compact flash memory, but it sounds useable. To put things in perspective Marshall; I know you are familiar with some of my flower pics, well they have been shot with a 1.3 Megapixel digital, so you have more resolution there for a start! The great thing about digital is that (with available memory) you can snap away to your hearts content. The bad thing is - you can snap away to your heart's content! (you should see some of the dross on my hard-drive) If you are serious about hi-res photos you can enlarge and print with acceptable quality, you may (no make that will) want more megapixels, but for web or personal pics this camera could be the go. Have fun messing with it anyhow! :-)>
The advice to get a larger card is real. They are now about 50 cents a megabyte. Figure this way at 72 per inch 1200 pixels is a lot of viewing. At 300 per inch it is 4 inches of print. Since you can often print at lower resolution or with some software increase the resolution it is possible to get decent 8" x 10". You won't want to figure on cropping much. After a few shots taken through the process you will have some definite opinions and images to share

Someone gave me this digital camera to mess around with. They never used it, and never tried to really figure it out. I know some about photography, and computers, but never even touched a digital camera before today (one of the philm boyz). Anyway, I was wondering if it was any good, but I dont know enough about they to tell. Heres some details: KODAK DX3500 2.2 megapixel picture resolution: 1000x1200 pixels 3X digital zoom 8MB internal memory Expansion slot for removable CompactFlash cards Lens focal length: 38mm Focusing Range: 0.75m to infinity and beyond Optical Viewfinder 1.8 inches (45.7mm) review/preview color LCD I guess that should be enough for the digiexperts! So how does it stack up forum folks?
