Just to let you all know that, in spite of the intervention of the "Dark Forces" here, my site is now up and running again and ALL items are now available for free download. Thanks for all the emails of support from the honest members of this community

Thanks to both of you. As for luck, it would be nice but I will continue to share all my work for free regardless of what happens here. The short period of time that I did sell my work here made me realise what an ugly place this was becoming. Oh wasn't life wonderful when we all shared our work and ideas freely becaused we loved what we were doing. Those days of community not market place. The days of sharing not stealing. OK I'll stop now. I'm rambling :) Take care all. Till the next time, Bebop

As a member of the "dark forces" I look forward to seeing your next banning. I hope Blackhearted recieves tons of sales on his lightset due your your promotional effort here as well as on the yahoo poser list.

Hear hear, Ivy. I couldn't have said it better myself.

My next banning oh yes. How many is it now 14 times 15? :):) Yes I hope I hope Blackhearted recieves tons of sales on his lightset too. It will be very interesting when Renderosity are forced to admit that he stole large portions of it from Stefy Z and have to refund all that money. And if you don't believe me ask her. Ask Jeny K to publish the full results of her tests on the set from my site, Blackhearteds set and Stefy's set. Information she has had for months but chooses not to disclose. Bye now Love you all Bebop

Bebop... considering the questions surrounding YOU, it isn't very advisable to make notes about theft. Notice that when the similarity was pointed out, BH removed the offending lights from his lightset. The jury has not yet returned on the accusations pending against you. I would say, yes, we should see the results of that test... and note the fact that the set currently available no longer have the questionable lights, as I already said. I would actually rather, however, see the results of a comparison between your free lightset and BH's one in the marketplace. I am not saying you are a thief. I am saying there is evidence posted, and no counter evidence yet. Therefore, accusations of theft are highly out of line for someone in your current situation. Finally... if you consistantly get banned, and a majority (it seems) of people here, at least of the ones willing to voice an opinion, seem to agree with "the forces of darkness", why do you keep returning? And if you've been permbanned under one name, why come back at all? That's called criminal tresspass in the physical world, and likely will have a similar electronic statute instituted soon, from what I hear.

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

I just wanted to thank you for all the promotion. :) I have Stefy's lights set. They dont target like the ones in Blackhearted's set. The only thing they really have in common is the use of white light. Thanks for bringing that point up. This can also lead to another point. If infact Blackhearted's lights are derived from Stefy's then yours are as well. I wish Jenyk would also publish her findings. I would put an end to all of this but it isnt ethical for her to do so.

Thank you very, very much, Peter for your beautiful textures, and for your generous spirit in wanting to give them to those of us who have not the skill to make them for ourselves. Your work is incomparable, and no words of mine would be adequate thanks. Kimberly

I personally think that all this bashing of Bebop(p) is getting pretty childish. Here is someone that donates their work to the community. Apparently pays for their own bandwidth in order to do so, and they're slammed for bootlegging a lightset, oh come on it's a lightset its like ripping off the layout of someones spreadsheet. At least if it was a character or even a morph or a texture I may be able to see all the fuss. It seems to me to be a real stretch to accuse someone of stealing something in plain view in the base program. No photographer would ever pitch a bitch about another photographer for copyright violation for figuring out how he arranged his lights. I am not saying that lighting is an insignificant part of the art, but it is not the art. By this logic we should all be getting cease and disists from Pixar because they did computer generated shadows before us. Can not lightsets be reverse engineered to indistiguishably indifferent with out reading a single line of the vendors files? I have not heard anyone say that Bebop is distributing a file attained from a commericial product, only that he recreated the look. Isn't that the same as the many Digital Marilyns out there that duplicate the look of copyrighted works? Should Sorayama shutdown Renderosity because of the Robot Girl for sale in the marketplace that is a replication of a look he created? Lets face it if we start getting into look violations, Renderosity is a dead issue, expect to defend yourselves againts Olivia, Boris Vallejo, Sorayama, Vargas, Petty, Erte, etc. When did the definition of an arists community come to mean a place for artists to sell their work to each other? I appreciate someone that still does quality work for the community, it is so disturbing to see people shutdown their sites, leaving a message like "I'm tired of giving away my stuff so others can profit from it". And here is a droning reoccuring thread about "how can I profit if others give away something like mine". Unless the commercial lightsets in question are ordered the same, or have some unique quality not inherent to lighting concepts inherent to the base Curious Labs (Metacreations, Fractal Design) product I don't see the point to the bashing. I have seen the public discussions between these two and frankly my opinion is ban both or neither, and I'm sorry to say that market place cliquery seems to have determined that the merchant stays and the outsider goes, just an observation from a reader.

First of all, and I'll put this bluntly, since subtlety seems lost... Bebop wasn't banned for piracy, he was banned for being a dick to a lot of people. He continues to be a dick, and should continue to be banned. As for the huff over the lights, big deal. Bebop stole them, so be it. And, skorpio, if you want to defend this little prick because he gave you some crappy lace underwear for Posette, by all means, we all have our priorities, but I don't care if Bebop gives away hundred dollar bills, he's still, and will always be, a dick.

skorpio ( ) posted Mon, 11 March 2002 at 1:02 AM

How rude. If this is the attitude that he had to defend himself against, I can see how he could become a "dick".

Entropic ( ) posted Mon, 11 March 2002 at 1:50 AM

Note to skorpio: It's pretty obvious you don't know this story, so I'll fill you in, and a lot of people can back me up on this: Bebop was perfectly accepted in this community until he started attacking people. He was rude, crude, and lascivious. I have tried to be subtle and pleasant in many other posts on the subject, but it's getting a little old. He is an angry little man with bad intentions, and his pathetic attempts to martyr himself when he has continually done little but treat people like crap, and make me more and more angry. This pedantic game of his has continued for over a year now, and it's just plain damn stupid. Any sane, normal person would have by now simply given up and gone away, but bebop is an obsessive little-minded twit, who feels he has some great revenge in store for the "dark agents" of rosity. To paraphrase someone else in an earlier thread, he is like an impotent supervillain hovering over a keyboard in England, chanting about how he's gonna get all those bastards. Well, bebop, if you're reading this under your new nick, here's a suggestion. I'll be adding my products to the marketplace in less than 2 weeks. If they end up at Homestead, unlike BH I will come after your ass with an attorney, and I will have your site shut down permanently. So if you're so obsessed with getting all the evil bastards who are persecuting your poor dumb ass, try me. Note: This is not a personal attack as defined by the TOS as personal attacks only apply to members, which bebop is NOT.

"Members/Users will not use this community for: Any practices that affect the normal operations of the community." To post is not an offense. To post while fully intending to be as provocative as possible, to carry old grudges with full intent of disruptive behavior, and to post with little or no regard or respect for the site and the members and administrators is. I see no productive end to this discussion.

Keep it clean people. Lets not break the TOS here.
