That's all true, Mike, two or three objects and a good amount of time on searching new setings could make great pictures and teach you a lot. That was the purpose of the 'Paladine' picture in my galery. One character that I took as it come from zip, and a dive in material editor... For your picture, why not a little grainyness on the wall and on the floor ? On the floor, a really little reflection could be cool... Continue this kind of amusement for our enjoyment... :-)
Mike, I like it. Especially the light you used. Are this spots ? Looks more like the freestuff "global light". Anyhow, it looks great and nearly like a photo:-). The coffeepot I have modeled in Corel Dream looks much better in metal as the white original:-) I like the clean wall and also the clean (and grainless) floor. Guitta
Thanks all. :) The lighting is very simple: I deleted the "sun" and added a regular quadratic spot above. Then I stuck a point light with no shadows right above the spot, with a power of about 300. The only light casting a shadow was the spot, and it was just at 100% The wall in the back is just the "flat white" material with a "noise smooth" bump set at around .05, with little highlight.
This picture looks like a photo, so only 15 minutes to render means that Vue4 is faster than previous versions, or that number of polygons is very low (it could not be seen due to the distance) ? Nice work, I will maybe try to create two types of objects in the future : very fine meshes, for short distance viewing, and normal meshes for long distance viewing and fast rendering.
