Subject: The Solution!

x2000 ( ) posted Tue, 12 March 2002 at 2:50 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 8:29 AM

OK, things have been very ugly here lately. I don't think anyone will deny that. Everyone is at everyone else's throat, obvious jokes are taken as personal attacks, and everyone is on edge. Every comment and complaint gets blown way out of proportion. Anger and hatred are exploding everywhere, and something must be done before it goes any farther. There is only one fool-proof solution that I can see, and it should be obvious: Hippies. Yes, hippies. With their pacifism, their drugs, their free love, and their psychedelic music, only hippies can solve this. To clear the angry red haze that has engulfed this site will require a strong dose of Purple Haze. The mods and admins can only do so much, but flower power is a force that cannot be denied. Locking a thread may stop the argument, but the hurt and anger remain. We need more. We need sitars, and we need them now. So I call upon the admins of this site to round up all of the hippies you can find and get them in here a.s.a.p. Although their matted hair and body odor may offend, their love for every living thing will bring peace to this site. This is, ironically enough, a battle that can only be won by not fighting. Let Sgt. Pepper lead the way to victory. All you need is love. So please, everyone, come together, right now, over me. Peace.

Malcom told me to never tust a hippie. :)~

Locking every outburst is why the anger and hurt not only remain but escalate, since no one is allowed to get it out of his or her system. There is no closure. If things were let run their course like they used to be back in the Wild Wild West days here less folks would be so tense and bursting out all over. Sure... there were whiners then who could not take the heat and so shoulda' gotten the hell out of Dodge, but most of the C&D regulars knew the score and could take their lumps, giving as good as they got, and wake up in the morning still friends and still respecting eachother.

You have a point Mehndi, but with hippies there's nothing to get out of your system, unless you're facing a drug test. And simple disagreements could be settled without turning into firefights if we could only pipe some Grateful Dead in here. People could still voice their feelings, but instead of shouting "Legume rapes sheep and eats kittens and is the harbinger of the apocalypse", people might calmly protest that "I don't dig Legume, man". Wouldn't that be groovy? All I am saying is give peace a chance.

LOL... cool by me man! I've always believed in "live and let live.." which is why I have no beef with Legume, and at some rare sane/insane moments even dig the guy ;p

"Malcom told me to never trust a hippie." Hey man, we don't need your bad vibes here. We're trying to get our thing together, without The Man getting all heavy on us, dig? You need to drop out and tune in, man. I'd love turn you on. I know a good guru, he really blows my mind, you know? I'll send you his e-mail address if you want. But if you want to just be another puppet for The Man, that's your scene, dig?

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend, Pooh? That tin soldier? He rusted long ago.

Funny you should say that Rex, because that's exactly how I think of Legume: the Frank Zappa of the Poser set. Sometimes very political, sometimes just goofy, usually dirty, and always controversial. The people who are offended by Legume's art would have a fucking coronary if they ever heard "Catholic Girls". Or "Jewish Princess". Or "Stick It Out". Or... Not that that would be a bad thing;) The Central Scrutinizer Lives!

Great talent to have. I can do rude shadow puppets. Tonight on 'Rude Shadow Puppet Theatre'... It was the 'bucket of butcher knives' that brought Nick Cave to mind. 'I got a woman She strikes me down with a fist of lead I got a woman She strikes me down with a fist of lead We bed in a bucket of butcher's knives A awake with a hatchet hanging over my head ' The song is called 'Jack The Ripper' Ah who knows... perhaps it used to be an every day saying, such as 'Smart as big dogs' or 'Silly as a bag of hammers'. Shittin' in Satan's hat just reminded me of 'Titties & beer' by Frank Zappa. Shit... they're both admirable influences. :)~
