Sorry but this link it too cool. I wish someone would do this for Poser - another way Poser can be used for media entertainment. These kid sites are quite popular. Of course and adult one would do well too I am sure. Anton

Hey, cute :-) I bookmarked this site for my daughter. Hm, you could do this with Vicky and Michael and several different clothing items - with Dreamweaver it's easy to set up a page like this.

sent this one to my grandaughter, I could play with it for hours if there was more variation. OK puntomaus explain to an idiot how I can set her up a page with my vicky clothes, pretty please, really pretty please. You have to remember I don't even have a site yet, will get round to it given enough reason. btw she is only two, so I have time to learn.

layering will allow the dragging and dropping of clothing.. You know this is a good idea for Poser... I think I will give it a whirl my daughter would love it

This "game" is called Kisekae or KISS. There have been some things done using Poser. There was a forum for it at Renderotica, but it's gone now. The attached link is a google search page, and the following link is a good example using flash.

Puntomaus ( ) posted Sun, 17 March 2002 at 10:25 AM

@ chohole: like LadySilverMage already mentioned, this is made by using layers and javascript. Dreamweaver does all the coding for me so don't ask me how this is done LOL - I only know how to do it in Dreamweaver. But I think that there are ready made javascripts available i.e. at Dynamic Drive that will do the same.

Just puzzled a page together with a few items. Not much, just to show that it works.

There is a KISS forum at thralldom.org but it went dormant after a couple of months. Tmech posted one set (adult) but it is no longer available.

It does seem like a natural for Poser. Skimming through the docs for the set creation program, it seems to be a bit of work, but a good project for someone. The tools are available to create KISS sets at the link provided.

I actually took some notes on doing something like this a while back for personal use for my scifi characters. More for a different type of storyboarding than anything, just printing them out at Kinko's. Is anyone interested in developing something like this for the Marketplace? Puntomaus? Of course we'd have to use items that don't restrict commercial use, but that's cool. It'd be fun and unique!

3-DArena ( ) posted Sun, 17 March 2002 at 1:29 PM

for the marketplace??? how so? It would justbe renderedimages on dragable layers. My daughter (9) says I should add it to my site with printable dolls.... we'll see if I can find the timethis week. Dreamweaver auto codes the drag layers?? geeesh that would have saved wome time for me last year, must look into that.

Yes, I was thinking in a printed form, say on thick paper stock or something. You know - a physical product as opposed to a virtual one. Heck, we could even do our own original RPG board game (now THERE's a thought for another thread...) You know it would be a great toy for kids - your daughter has the right idea! :) The challenge would be perforations/cutouts. Or it could be on a sticker/label paper. Even though printers are the work of the devil, they are very useful for cool things like that. I've been working on some simple board games just for my wife and I to play on rainy days, using Poser, Bryce and Photoshop. With all the range of paper stock nowadays, even with an inkjet it's possible to make quality things like that to have fun with! What do you think?

lmckenzie ( ) posted Sun, 17 March 2002 at 2:56 PM

I think you can buy flat sheets of magnetic material. Glue the images on them and they'd even have more of a "3D" quality.

MaterialForge ( ) posted Sun, 17 March 2002 at 3:10 PM

That would be cool, didn't think of that. You can get those at CompUSA.

3-DArena ( ) posted Sun, 17 March 2002 at 7:44 PM

oh magnetic, remember those old plastic doll sets? They were scenes and the dolls stuck to it and the clothes stuck to the dolls... Well, I've already promised my daughter that I would be making the dolls for her. I see the idea of selling them now, like the postcards and gift cards I do. Currently they are only sold in a local gift shop but when I re-open SilverMage.Net they will go there, so I can see how the dolls would fall into place - cool idea!

Good thing CL clarified the "clipart" licensing issue. This seems to be in that area if you sold KISS sets. Most of the sets I have seen have the character in a simple standing pose. If you rendered the clothes "posed," though, you should be able to do some "action sets". Don't for get you can use props as well. Good luck guys!

lmckenzie, The forun at Thraldom is still operational. Its just that making a set the way I do takes months ... don't make many but have fun. The set will be released again in a few weeks on a Spanish site. I will announce it. The Otaku World link is the best for newbies to follow. You can find tuts and links to get you started. Otaku World is the center of the kiss world for North America and Europe. The Japanese seem to be quite stand-off-ish in the last several years. Kiss is a fun medium that can be just about anything you want it to be. Some, most notable 'The Owl', produce sets that are very complex to the point of being an interactive game with a large number of results... I have been using Poser to produce Kiss sets for over three years. There are starting to be a few more Poser / Kiss contributors but I would like to see more. The Mechanix

Another site that works on the same principle :) You make your figure, use the printscreen on your computer to copy and then insert into your bitmap program.

Oh man, this is bringing ideas. I had the old KISS Colorforms set, those things were way cool. Hmm - "Poserforms". Now, where did I stash that pz3 of Paul Stanley...?

3-DArena ( ) posted Mon, 18 March 2002 at 8:51 AM

colorforms! Thanks Anton - I was going crazy trying to remember what they were called.

Now if I can just find time for this...

I've done a temporary one for now. It doesn't use layers at all.. I will have to redo it so the edges are smoother, but this is what I have so far. She is going to have a few hats and another purse.
