Subject: new P4 patch

Is anyone having any problems with the new patch? Specifically with hair, both conforming and regular.

I had a problem installing the patch. I got an error message -- my poser.rsr "is not valid and can not be updated." My Poser 4 is the original, unpatched version 4.0. There's nothing wrong with my current version (that I know of). The only variable is that I installed it in its own directory on my 2nd hard drive rather than in the default folder, but the installer found it OK (just wouldn't complete the upgrade). I also still have Poser 3 on my system, if that matters at all. I'm emailing these notes to Larry as well.

Just installed the patch, and there seems to be some sort of problem with the regular hair. It loads to the default state, and refuses to move together with the head, neither will conforming hair conform at all... But as I said, just installed it, and I'm not even sure it's the patch I should blame, I might have missed something. Gonna take a closer look when I get some time over. Do you have the same problem, Albertosaurus?

Me so, I've just installed the new patch and noticed the following issues: - conformable hair (curly long hair) don't conforms anymore. - normal hair lands always in default position when the figure is posed, also you have to manually parent the hair to the head (Was working perfectly with the 4.0.2.111 beta) I've just emailed this to Larry

Mistakes are good to learn from, especially others... Why didn't I listen to old wisdom and waited another day!? Oh well... ;-) /Bjn

I am having the same problem with the conforming hair others reported. Tried new installs - different partitions - now using Poser 4 without any patches. Thought it was dumb me. Sigh Waiting for the next patch????

I'm glad I wasn't the first kid on the block to try patch #2, I think I'll hold off until they fix this- at least I know where the problems are in patch #1!

Virus, you're right, the bikini top doesn't fit anymore when trying to pose it. /Bjn

Well, I was going to ask for the URL for this patch. You've all changed my mind.
