It's hardly cr*p. I like what you have going on. I would try something I like to do when I'm at a loss. Try simple things like move the camera. Or, just move one figure around. Sometimes it's the little things that all of a sudden give you a whole new perspective on an image that you might not have thought of without just going ahead and upsetting the applecart.

I really like the way the picture makes you feel like you are in the action. Personally I think what is missing is what you would normally see in the street. You know people, methods of transportation, signs, trash, shell casings, etc. The small details really serve to spice up any picture even if you don't notice them right away. On that note how about a tracer or two in there somewhere, maybe some dust blowing about the street or being kicked up by rounds hitting the dirt. I love the muzzle flash (something I have been trying to figure out how to do today, with little luck), but move the character to a less rigid pose, hunch him over a bit at the abdomen so he looks like he is bracing for the recoil. Oh by the way, where did you get that M60 model, that thing looks awesome. It is so hard to find good current weapon models. Been looking everywhere for an M16A/M203.

Oh if you want some different camo textures to play with let me know, I have a pretty good collection of high quality camo images (15 meg tif files taken with a nikon 5000). Currently only have one desert camo but I have a 6 color desert piece of cloth on order.

I think this is great, your pic is not cr*p, really you did a good job. Sharen

Maybe try to improve the cloth textures, especially for the guy on the foreground. The ground is not so realistic. You could also try to add bump on ground and house textures. Yves

Looks good! Maybe some more expression on the face of the man who is up. Also some cover for them to pass like a burned out jeep half buried in the sand for a past battle. Maybe a heli in the distant sky? I also get a feeling that ground is water but look like sand in its look. But the action part does look cool. :)

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I am going to try and implement all your ideas! ;o) Buffer - I don't know much about guns! so not sure which one you mean ;o) The two rifle type guns that you can see well(There are 5 differnt guns in the scene) The guy close apparantly has a M4A1, and the guy shooting has a M249 again apparantly! ;o) as luck would have it both are by JOE LE GECKO a member here at renderosity! They were in a pack of all the weapons from the computer game counter strike... well I say all, I've not played it so I don't know ;o) aanyway! back to the point, they WERE in free stuff -search counter strike- but his site seems to be down :o( I would love some textures! :o) how big are they zipped? cheers Steve

Ahh the M249 is commonly known as the SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon). From the angle of the picture I couldn't tell if that was a 100 round drum magazine or not on there. As for the textures I have converted them all to .jpg files and can zip them up make them available in the free stuff here if anyone thinks they might be useful. For now I will leave them at the link provided with this message. Will take me a few minutes from the time of this posting to get them up there though.

Looks like zipped it weighs in at about 8.16 megs but the textures are 2560 X 1920 so they should cover any needs you may have. If you are a modem user let me know and I will reduce the size of them to a manageable one.

Thanks Buffer, I am a modem user :( but I can download them at work!! woohoo! I like working for an ISP ;)
