Contest Announcements F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 2:08 pm)
Ok right now these are for Bryce,Now I am testing the ones for Poser and will finish this weekend and get out to the poser betatesters sometime in the next week. Now these are for the pc right now.... I am getting these out to a mac user and he will test for me but he thinks they will work just like on the pc anyways...I will be holding a Poser contest soon and you also will be able to download a free 5 effects soon too....
Well I am going to upload the 5 free effects sunday and then the contest will start On the second of April( I have too much fun on the first )I will include a very small tutorial on how to get into your scenes that way you will have a whole month to play with them cuz on the second of May the judgeing begins.......As Always Be 3D
0-5 all one your choice it can be any type of theme( NO NUDITY )AND the contest has been expanded...And What I mean by that is not everybody has Poser so two people will get the effects package for winning one will win for just bryce and the other one will win for useing a poser figure imported into Bryce...now the effects were made for Magical pictures or even Fantasy BUT I have also used them for laser shots and small explosions too...The rules are as follows 1.NO NUDITY WHAT SO EVER...THIS MEANS NO SEE THROUGH CLOTHES 2.Postwork is allowed but not a requirement 3.Slammin scenes is allowed....cramm it in 4.Having tons of fun is required.... AND DONT FRET POSER USERS THERE WILL BE A CONTEST WITH THE EFFECTS FOR POSER TOO...AM IN THE FINAL STAGES OF GETTING THEM READY FOR YOU GUYS...
Absulotely wonderful idea, and by the way I am a betetester, as well a co-founeder of BAD-3D, and have used these effects on my 300mghz Cyrix W/64mg RAM. The rendering times while using these effects have not been changed by more than seconds. I am looking forward to seeing the results of this contest. Thank you Foleypro!
Yes it was created in 5 but I always am able to view so I have pulled the PDF file and replaced with WORD document or you can view the jpegs of the Tutorial in Microsoft Paint or your favorite Paint program, sorry about the problems hope to figure out this week what I did wrong....But yes you import thru the picture editor and once you get into the picture editor click on the check mark then you are back into your scene ...now if you click on the blue square in the create icons it will bring into your scene a 2D square now go back and pick the effect you want click on the M next to the square and you are in the Materials Lab where all the fun begins...now in the diffusion slot you see the slider all the way at 100 and the ambience at 19.6 well change it to 100 too then click on the upside down triangle(which should be Material options)and now you want to make sure that all the shadow settings are clicked off(that means no check marks showing)as a matter of fact the only check mark should be either blend transperencies or additive now the last is only if you want a really tweaked out effect...now make sure for the torchfire ans smoke that you have the smoke right behind and with a little more transperency then the fire...well I hope you all remember to instant message me when you upload a pic so It can be viewed and judged...
Oh no you want to upload here either way it is fine with me I was just saying instant message me when you upload a pic so it can be judged and I hope the info will be alright now Andy Moraitis of EtherealCreations.net and BAD3D are doing the updated PDF file so there shouldnt be any problems with the final version of the Effects Package just to let you folks know that I have been in contact with BAD3D and they are aware of the problem and we hope to have it solved BY THIS WEEKEND so for now I have re-uploaded to my site another file that has a word document that is the tutorial or you can view the actual files in JPEG format so either way you will be able to view the small tutorial on how to import the file into Bryce and how to change the Material settings so go and have fun and I am looking forward to what you guys create...GOOOD LUCK
Thanks, foleypro and bkstearns! I have a really lousy dialup connection, so I'm always reluctant to download a big file like Acrobat 5, even though I know I should. foleypro has already included a word document in the new zip file, along with the jpeg version, so it looks as though we're all set on all fronts.
I don't use Word and can't open it either. Don't know if you can convert it and doubt that it's worth doing. Because, here's what's cool: foleypro provided the same info in those 3 jpegs, one for each page in the doc. The type is a little fuzzy, but you can make it out OK. Yer very welcome. (Heh, helping out the competition - LOL!)
Yes the contest is on AND I want to say how sorry I am for all the problems That have been happening with the effects downloads and the PDF file tutorial...I also want to say thanks for downloading the effects package and folks upload the pics to the Bryce froum where the original link for the contest is...and I would hope folks that you wont get to outrageous with the resolution size try to keep it fairly small like no bigger than 800 by 600 just to be safe...The Tutorial is being re-done and sometime this week I will have it up for downloads...Folks thanks for the patience and like I always say BE 3D
This is a brief tutorial regarding the free effects package from Foleypro. After downloading the file, save the FoleyproFreeEffects.lst file to your Bryce folder and open Bryce. Once opened, click on the word Edit next to the word Create above the picture. You will find at the top left of the picture being edited, an upside down triangle. Click the one farthest to the left once. This will bring up a list, choose 2D Pic Textures. This should bring up a new window. In this window, click on the words Open List at the bottom. This will bring up a window that will allow you to locate the file FoleyproFreeEffects.lst choose the file from the location in which you saved it and then the open button and there you have your effects loaded. To use the effects choose an object for your picture. With object hi-lighted click on the upside triangle once again. Here you will choose the effect to apply to the object, Click the check-mark at the bottom right of the window your texture is added to the object. You may want to experiment with the Ambience and bump settings. There are literally thousands of uses for these effects. Enjoy Stay BAD...BAD 3D
