Subject: Transparency Maps on multiple object.....uh, object

I have an object that consists of a jester hat, Michaels head, and a pawn body. I made it in Poser, saved it as an .obj, and remapped in UV Mapper.I want to render the whole thing in Bryce 5. I just found a transmap for Michael's brows and lashes. In order to use it, must I now bring all three objects into Bryce individually, put them together there, and then map (texture and transmap)? Or will the brow/lash transmap be useable on the conjoined pawn/head/hat object? Thanks. TREE

Dont know why you remapped them in uvmapper?? You can put a scene together in poser, export the whole as *.obj , import the whole in bryce . Only thing you have to do manually is applying the transmaps.

So I put the hat on the head, put the head on the "pawn" body, then export the jolly trinity as an .obj. Then I import into Bryce. Is each item an individual that needs its own tex/transmap? Where do I find and/or create the texture map to use in the paint program to smartly color the object? Is UV Mapper involved somewhere? Thanks for your prompt reply. You truly rock. TREE

As soon as you start importing in bryce , bryce asks for the separate textures. And you have to show Bryce the folders where the different textures are stored. And once imported you can select every single group( first select nothing, than hold the "Crtl" key and select with the mouse) and change color and so. So far uvmapper isnt involved, only if you want to create your own texture But look in the bryceforum for better help and there are several tuts out .

Ok, please bear with me as I attempt to say this back to you. (1) I create my 3-item object in Poser. (2) I export as an .obj. The items are linked but each has its own individuality as far as tex mapping goes. (3) I import into Bryce. It asks me where the maps are. I tell it. (4) When imported, I can select each group (hat, head, base)and recolor them (?). Question: Do I have texture maps for each item or are they all on one template? When do I create the maps? After exporting in .obj? If I want to change the color/material of a tex map, how do I do it once the object is imported in Bryce? I will go to the Bryce Forum, but I also appreciate your help. Your patience is Biblical. TREE
