Hey all,
I was wondering if there was any good tutorial on makeing metaball muscles. The rason I want to do this, is the other night, I was cruising the forum, and came across a link for linking objects in bryce to make posable figures. right away, the gears started turning, and I got an idea...what if I created a realistic looking, and moving creature?...well i need to figure out how to make the muscles behave realistically to do that. If anyone can help, or point me in the right direction, I would really appreaciate it.

Thanks,

I think you can't link the deformation of metaballs to animation. You have to animate the muscle-metaballs seperately. Using families does allow for easier orientation in your scene, so use these wisely and you'll be able to work faster. But it's a nice idea, you should really try it. I'm almost sure it's possible.

You mean something like this. I beleive I created this with about 6-8 metaballs. The bulging muscle is simply a metaball rising over time. It was created by builing a skeleton of cylinders and setting up the origin points for the joints and parenting them like explained in the other thread I think you are talking about. Then I parented the metaballs to the cylinder that represented the bone it would be attached to. If you have poser you will get better results because you can clothe your poser figures which would be very hard to do using just Bryce. But for animals and creatures it should work just fine.
