"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.
One more thing BTW. I alredy made the top and the windshield, so if I make new cuts it might make things goofy. This pic is just a little outdated, but the front end is still the same. It's my 2nd attempt at a car, I got stuck on the first thats in my gallery, but the same techniqes for the hood don't seem to work here. I used a tutorial last time. I'm all on my own here. Thanks.
i think your best bet is to do it with your tex map unlesss your wanting to make it llik realy gaping and deep in most car pics i see its a subtle difrence id make a bump for it and then use spec maps to reflect what would be the edges i have a tool in lw but not sure what it would be called in your app that would work to put a crease around ther good luck

I think wha he meant by modular was to build the car in pieces. Hood, bumper, doors, etc. Not just windows, body, and tires. That might give you better control of the shapes.Attached Link: http://www.sciformz.com
