Can someone who has both Michael and DAZ's San Francisco Hair please do me a favor? I'd love to see how the SF Hair looks on Michael in a black texture and adjusted just past shoulder length (if that length is possible). I'm thinking it could possibly pass as a great high-quality male long hair style. If someone could render that and upload it here I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! |-)

The SF Hair is just one example of a long hair style I'd like to see as an example on Michael. Actually, I've been looking for a long time now for a simple, but high quality, straight hair, parted in the center, shoulder length style that would look good on Michael. Almost all the styles I see are meant for Vicki and are just too "salon styled" to use on a male figure. Anyone found a style that would work?

Here's a quick render of Mike in the SF hair. I have Stephanie's blunt cut too and that looks good for a very straight, non-styled look. I'll post that one next.

Just discovered the California Hair style. Anyone know if the length of the hair is adjustable? It's close to what I have in mind but I need the hair to just be shoulder length only.

I like the SF Hair on Mike! It makes him look like a barbarian or a warrior or something. Only thing is I would like a hair style that is only a little past shoulder length and with a forehead part similar to the California Conforming Hair I've seen here in the Marketplace at... http://www.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=7225 Can the SF Hair morph so that the part is more like the California Conforming Hair? Wow! Didn't know I had so many hairstyles in my libraries... But those are the only ones I could find that fit the criteria of shoulder length and parted near the middle. Be aware the Tanzak, and Koz hairstyles were meant to fit Vicky, but all it needed was a little adjusting the position, and it fit fine.

Er... sorry, I got sidetracked looking through my libraries. I'll check out the SF and get back to ya...

Okay.... You CAN shorten the SanFrancisco hair to shoulder length, but it begins to do funky things. My advice: If the California hairstyle is what you're looking for, get it. You can never have too many varieties of hair, and if you still want the SF hair later, then just save your pennies. I really hope this helped you. I too wondered what Mike would look like in these various styles, but never got around to trying them. Thanks for the opportunity!

No problem. I do like the SF Hair and will probably buy it now that you've been so kind as to show me how it will look. I think it'll be great for Mike the Warrior/Barbarian/Native American/Etc. I might get the California Conforming Hair. Just wish I knew if I could shorten the length a bit. I wrote the contributor so maybe I'll find out yet. Thanks again.

I use it on Michael all the time, just in its standard length. It works great for fantasy type male characters. In fact, I've actually used it mostly on men and only once or twice on a female character. :) Melanie

I want Tanzak hair too, it looks fantastic! I've never seen that one before! dkal, perhaps you could adjust the length of the San Francisco Hair with shorter transparency maps? e.g. nudge the visible part up a bit? I wish I had the SanFran hair, then I'd try it for you, but alas, that one isn't in my box.

You might want to check into Runtime DNA's hair. It's parted in the middle and has morphs. I don't own it yet, but it sounds more what you are looking for. :o)

The Tanzac hair was by RYO, at PoserFactory. It doesn't seem to be posted on the site any more, although the Tips section has a detailed tutorial on its creation and an MPEG video of the hair in motion.

joelegecko also had some nice textures for the hair at his website.

Great work, Ron. You're really pouring a lot of hours into this project. It's going to be really useful. Have you seen Neftis's Casual Hair for Mike? It's great. Very high res and slows rendering a bit, but it's fantastic. I hope you'll have the artists' names and locations where these can be found, so folks will know where to go get them. Ryo appears to have dropped a lot of his/her work from the site. There used to be all sorts of cool things there.

When I get around to it (so many things to do!) I want to add a scaling pose on the San-Fran hair for Mike and Stephanie, move them to the new CR2 that also adjusts for colar motion and add a couple more morphs. Will be a free upgrade, of course- just gotta find the time to do it!
