my best friend here, she would like to be a model and Im trying to be a half decent photographer.... with a bit of graphic design involved too. I used these images for my A level graphics project, meant to advertise perfume, sort of like the CK ads. Think u have seen a couple of these here before too! If you could give me any help here with composition or just anything really, Id really appreciate it - be harsh ppl, I'll love you for it in the end! xXxXx

btw, the 2 ppl above arent trying to be models... just a couple of mates who hate eachother, i wondered how convincing they'd look together....

This advertising stuff is pretty specialized, so not sure any of my opinions would be worth much. Both images are rather eye-catching. In the first, I like the unconventional pose and the large areas of pure black and white defining the field and ground. [The model is certainly worth looking at also!]Something bothers me about the arch-thing in the back and the line of the model's hair. Not sure exactly how to explain it. The second captures a wide spectrum of emotions in the facial expressions, but not quite sure the emotions are "intimacy"? You say they hate each other? They seem to be sharing a moment, but not necessarily with each other... I do very much like the straightforward style. Again, this type of work is very specialized. I stick more with trees, snow, and gummy-bears.

Wish I could work with gummy-bears! Thank you, maybe i could black the arch out possibly... not sure whether im good enough to alter the hair sweetie! Well the two people certainly have an intense dislike, but the border between love and hate being what it is, guess you never know =) Intimacy, i agree is the wrong word, but i could not find another suitable!

The top image is extremely attractive to me (as is your friend Cat! mutters to himself...down boy, down! You're married remember!) But enough malarky, back to the photo...There is a repitition of curves on the horizontal plane that I like very much, in the model's body, face, arms and the white background. I think it makes for a very strong composition. (I'm no expert remember this is just my personal take on it) - tell your friend she should have no problem becoming a model, I think she's a natural. The second photo...the girl looks like she's enjoying herself, but the expression on the fella's face is like he is there under sufferance! (Do these friends know you've popped them together like this? lol!) Good work Cat, especially that top image. :-)>

The top is the best. Of course the letters get lost in her clothes. The second one he seems convinceing to me BUT she looks like she is being chocked and is acting like she is having fun. BOTH because I can see his hand and because of her expression. Bsteph

I shall have time for a re-shoot, and also I totally agree about the second image =) I might have a more appropriate image at the moment, just gotta find it! I'll repost the results soon as I can manage it, cheers all =) xXxXx
