I've seen several references to 'Poserworld' in the Renderosity pages, so I tried to get onto Poserworld. After five minutes of loading at about 60 b/sec, I still had nothing but a brown page. When I finally hit 'stop', a couple of items came up, one being "Free Downloads", which should have loaded onto my computer in about fifteen seconds. When I clicked on "Free Downloads" it went into another five minutes of loading nothing, at which point I gave up. Can someone enlighten me? Is there a secret pathway into 'Poserworld' that I haven't found yet?

I have no idea what it is or could be.. but I do know Poserworld generally has VERY slow downloads for me, sometimes timing out. The site is that way, too. At least on my end. Everything else flies with my cable modem.. bless its blinking little heart. I'd emal Rena or Steve. Anz

I have asked about it, and Allen has told me he will look into it. I have dsl and it takes forever to get stuff sometimes. It gets frustrating when I want to get something and end up having to wait til the middle of the night. Steve, you might ask about it again. Marque

So far, I've never had any trouble at all downloading from PW.

I don't have a problem with Poserworld either. I have a dial-up connection and it isn't slow for me. Downloads aren't slow either.

Thanks for your comments. Whatever the problem is, it's specific to PW, cause Renderosity generally loads in under thirty seconds, sometimes faster. And many of the downloads on Renderosity will download in under a minute, so it's something in PW that slows things down. Will try the http://powerworld.com/pwfwfree.asp that steveshanks suggested.

Well often the site gets the blame when infact its some router between the user and the site that has a problem. i'm not sure where Renderositys servers are located but we are in the south (USA), a few times we've had problems such as this and a router search has pulled up a blockage somwhere between us and the user.....now i'm not trying to get out of any problems we may have :o) just trying to point out its not always our fault ;o)......Steve

Well, I just tried the 'pwfwfree.asp' line, and after three minutes of loading at a rate as slow as 50 bytes/sec (that's bytes, not Kbytes) I gave up. Renderosity just loaded in about 35 seconds, with rates up to 2Kbytes/sec. I'm on a dial-up line, but it's usually pretty fast unless I'm trying to get on in a busy time of day. The question remains unanswered, it seems.

i'm on dial up too with a 33.6 modem and coming from the uk and the page loaded in 38 seconds so i reckon theres a problem bewteen you and us, not helping i know :o( but i'd just try later ......Steve

Steve, I'm is the US and on dial-up also but I don't have any of the problems mentioned here. It works great for me. Maybe it's a DSL or cable problem instead.

I access Poserworld with DSL from Germany and have below 30 seconds for the mentioned page.... I ordered my poserworld subscription yesterday evening and I'm waiting for the password now....

Just to wrap this up for anyone interested, including all of you who offered helpful comments, I tried again last evening and got on PW very quickly (under 30 seconds) and got to the free stuff and what I wanted without undue delay. Guess this was an intermittent problem. Glad I kept trying, thanks to the encouragement from all who responded.
