The time and effort and S.E.C.(someone elses copyright) issues probably dictate that you will end up creating your own in photoshop, coral texture creator etc. I have looked for years for good textures and always end up making my own. looking is a good way to get ideas on how to do it. (oh god i just heard on the radio it's the evil one's birthday.) hey, if i run across something ... -o.k. BYE

Don't know if the golds on this page are exactly what you're looking for, but I think this guy's metal textures are beautiful. I agree with bikermouse that looking is a great way to learn. Even if I don't use a particular texture that I run across, I do learn by applying it to a primitive and then going into the DTE. I try to decipher what settings cause the various characteristics. Most of it's still Greek to me, but I'm slowly catching on. Good luck!

Well, this only means no one's bothered yet in making such textures, but the site u provided suggests there are those who do. Anyway these are not what I meant, tnx all the same.

Bikermouse, which evil one are you referring to: Joey Lawrence, Carmen Electra, or Adolf Hitler? You're going to have to be more specific. :)

Hi, I finished my gold-textures set. I've made 10 gold presets and you can download them at: http://home.hccnet.nl/t.vreeken/downloads/ The textures are under the link called 'Rayraz's Free Gold Presets' or whatever gets closest to that. The file contains a bryce-mat-file and a render showing the textures on 10 spheres. I hope the textures are good enough. Have fun with them, Rayraz.

unclebob ( ) posted Mon, 22 April 2002 at 5:45 AM

bikermouse... the Hanoi Jane reference has NOTHING to do with that big fat idiot (I don't listen to Rush or any other far rightist yack radio show), it has to do with what she did to American POW's during the Vietnam conflict, what she said and what happened to them afterwards. thats all I will say on the subject because this isn't the forum for it. bob
