Subject: Question regarding; making 3D models into real model / toys / CAM

Hi I remember reading about a few companies that make real models out of metals or plastics based on 3D files like OBJ and DXF. I have actually worked with some CAM stuff but that's not where I am leading. I was hoping some of you may have some suggestions of websites that offer these services. Any comments of past experiences would be good to hear of as well. I am hoping it's easier to ask hear in the forums than to go looking through my collection of Books and Magazines on 3d subjects. Thanks, Martin / Deimos.

Try ToyBuilders.com. They accept Poser files.

Attached Link: http://3dtolife.com/

I was trying to find JesterCGI recently and came accross this site. They make 3D models from meshes.

that 3dtolife seems like it might show some promise...but it sure is expensive. $100/hr and rendering rates are 1/2" and 1" an hour. I couldn't even afford a thimble! I guess I'll have to wait for the technology to mature a bit to cheapen it up. :-(

Thanks I will check them both out. I suspect the prices may still be a little to high but it's worth looking into. Thanks for the help.
