Ok, well, I ain't got any interior shots, so I've settled for creating this. I've had a day out in my birthplace, and to be honest, it made me uneasy. It's a town in desperate need of regeneration, and while photographing an old cinema I was acutely aware of people around who would be able to find an easy market for my camera. I hate to say it, but that's how it felt. However, that does have it's good points, as there are buildings that are going to become good projects in the future I feel. I'll post some more actual photo's soon. (",) btw, I've deliberately not posted this one in the gallery, as I feel myself the repetitiveness of the way I use this style, while enjoyable to me, may become a little boring to viewers....lol

yup, ur one boring lil'git you are! im kidding man. Great imagery man, looks like theres a long history with that building, and that history didn't really go its way. you got a strange texture going on with this image, and it suits it quite well in fact. I will say however, that the building need some of its highlights a little more blown out, as the texture kinda blends it in with the rest of the image. If you can find a way to somehow separate the building a little bit from the rest of the image, it will stand as a strong focal point for the viewer. I say this for the building. The ladder-ish thing that is going up the building though I'd leave, as it would create another focal point left as is if the building stood out a bit more from the rest. 2 quid given

boring shmoring... this is not! i think your style is provacative and interesting... i think that this image done ala slynkster would be interesting... may i also suggest doing the sky lighter and in a different layer to really make the building stand out more.... it's not the muggers you should worry about... rats, man its the rats!!! teeth,whiskers..beady lil eyes..... aaaaaaaaaaaaagh rolls into fetal position in corner

Not boring, Jordy. Interesting to see how style is progressing. Easier to find the images in the Gallery than search through Forum.

Joins in the chor... not boring Jordy!! I really like this, some good suggestions above but I really like the murky (sorry can't think of a better word!) look of the overall tone & texture.

Wow, ok, ok, I get the idea, I'm not boring ya yet!! I did try several different combo's with this, lightening the buidling and sky in turn etc, but ended up with this being my fave... Gotta admit, I'm suprised that no-one mentioned the figure in the window; when I started that was going to be my focal point! lol @Slynk - that 'ladder' is the remains of a wooden beam that has been burnt down, and was in the foreground on the original photo. @bonbon - Rodents don't bother me in the least; they don't know better and they're more likely to run than anything. The rats that bother me have 2 legs. Cheers all, once again thatnks for taking the time to comment. (",)

...and I did calibrate my monitor. Really I did... Figure in the window? Guess there is something there... 'course now you can use a picture of Slynkster's butt. Could be a May challenge for everyone?

This isn't boring Jordy....its a good image, I'd have to go along with Slynks about defining the building from the sky a bit to give it that extra ooomph, but this is very atmospheric...
