Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
depending on how much you have loaded into the scene, figures, textures, bump maps, etc.. what I mean is how "intense" or memory intensive your scene is. Poser will freeze up when trying to render. Unfortunatly I don't think anyone has come up with an easy fix for that one except maybe maxing out your RAM. Which I beleive poser will only recognize up to 512MB. Apparently Win NT and 2000 seemto have less of this problem. Hope this helps somewhat. Regards, mitharndir2K
It stops beeping and then goes bing? GET OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW! GET AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN, THEN SEEK SHELTER IN A CULVERT OR DITCH AND COVER YOUR HEAD!!! Seriously, though, you're probably running low on system resources (memory, CPU, uranium ...), like the others said. To check this, see if it'll finish rendering with shadows and antialiasing turned off.
I had this problem with my old computer. Switched to Windows XP and now works great. If you are using Windows 95, 98, or ME, you should not use the high res textures with Vicky or Mike. That will reduce the lockups. Otherwise, what I found was to save the scene, reboot, and then render. Seemed to work, but you only get one render, then have to reboot before it will render again. Happy rendering, Peggy

Ok, sometimes, when I start to render, the bar doesn't do anything at all... in fact, it just stops loading after about 4 minutes into rendering... Ok, if you don't get that, I'll explain. I click control-alt-delete and then the box comes up... my computer's light starts to "beep" indicating that it is loading... about 4 minutes into this, the light is still "beeping" but the rendering hasn't even started... its still loading... then it just stops altogether. The computer light stops "beeping" and a BING noise comes on my computer... anyone help? Suggestions?
