Well I want my knighty guy to hold his sword with both hands and be able to move without letting it go. The sword is a prop. I already parented the sword to the right hand so when it moves the sword moves with it :) But I don't know what to do about the left hand :( Help :(

The left hand gets a bit tricky. Instead of parenting the sword to the left hand, you parent the left hand to the sword. Now, if you move the sword, the left hand will move with it (because it's parented to the sword), but the right hand won't move (it isn't parented to the sword). You might say that it's a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. However, when you move the right hand, the sword will move along properly (because it's parented to the right hand). And the left hand (parented to the sword) will move also, as intended. Confused yet? Good.

you know, I've been struggling with that for ages, couldn't work out how to get both hands to move with the sword slaps forehead it's so obvious it passed me totally. Thanks Little Dragon. (-: Rob

Has anyone ever figured out how many props one can "parent" to a body part? I've occasionally had a problem when I tried to parent several props to the same part of a body, getting really wierd results. There must be some limit to the number which I haven't seen written yet in manuals.

heyas; just remember to turn ik on for the left arm, so you can change the hand's parent from the forearm to the sword. (or whatever prop you are using.) i've never seen that, raven. how many things are you using?? :)

Hey cool it worked!! Thanks so much Little_Dragon! :) Yes, at first I have to admit I didn't know what the Inverse Kinematics was for.... and the Object>Change Parent option wasn't available for the left hand. So I turned IK option on for the left hand (had a feeling it could do something and then I looked at the Change Parent option and it was on so it worked! Thanks again :)
