Subject: Just a new post-er...

Howdy, ya'll. I've been checking out the boards for a while, and just now decided that I needed some advice/critique. I've been dabbling for several years with RDS/C/CS and I love it! I've been trying my best to get into SFX work, even if just for creating my own movies, but when I find myself in a quandry on how to do something I just try to plow through it on my own. That's about the time when this site came into my life! Now I have lots of advice just from reading...
But seriously... I just uploaded a futuristic police vehicle in the free stuff section and I wanted some critique. I'll let you know that I mapped the image onto the vehicle using an isometric camera view. My question is this... when I tried to use UVMapper I found that when I re-imported the image into C1.1, the vertices tended to shift a little or smooth where I didn't want them to. Any advice for a duffer who wants to get alot better? Thanks in advance and sorry for the length of this post!

UVMapper smooths edges, unless you use the "Split Vertices" command before exporting (doesn't work in Mac OS version, so I usually have to skip UVMapper and map it in Carrara instead).
