I was fooling around in Nendo and made a GlassBlock. It's only one, but as you can see easily stacked into windows and walls. Each block is about a 10K Poser prop file. Do you think this would be useful? Would it be too much of a pain to build with this? -JH.

Jeff , Those would be great for bathroom scenes, do they look good clear with a touch of the rainbow effect, and 10 k is not bad, we can always parent multiple blocks if we were to desire a quick way to build. Great Blocks!! Sprout

I haven't tried to render them without colors in the transparency. Would the rainbow effect be done with the lights? -JH.

Not sure Jeff, I am not good at lights in Poser. :O) Sprout

If they will take a texture you could use a textured glass bump and fiddle with the transparency settings to get that look of 50's style glass blocks that were so prominent in the building styles. Just a thought. Kate

I left out UVs to make the file size smaller. I'll experiment and see how much larger it would make the file. I was really trying to create a style of Block that doesn't exist ;-) -JH.

heya; what do you need uvs for? i mean, wouldnt you just map a square tile onto it, and that would do it? (or do you have to make it box-mapped at the very least for it to work well?)

JeffH ( ) posted Tue, 08 February 2000 at 6:51 PM

I'm not sure you can map anything to a model with no UVs...

Yes, they look useful, at least I would like to play with them. Are they actually translucent?

Yes, I used a bit of transparency and falloff in Poser.
