scifiguy ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 1:48 AM

raz ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 1:51 AM

I'm not sure that I know what a geo folder is but you can use Find Files or Folders in windows and look for *.rsr Then select the ones you want to get rid of and hit the delete key.

.

are you sure you want to do this? next time you load any figure that has no *.rsr just *.obj, poser will produce one...

nukem ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 6:24 AM

Hi, aleks I think raz is referring to the .rsr thumbnail files, not the .rsr files in the Geometries folders. The thumbnails are safe to delete.

yes the thumnails.. i went ahead and dumped it all and am going to do a clean install. thanks

If you're running short of space it can be worth deleteing the RSR files in the geometries folders... Poser will re-create them as it uses the OBJ files, but all those rarely used geometries needn't have the RSRs there. There is a utility for doing this... um... but I don't know what it's called or where it is. You can do a "find files" with the Geometries folder only, with *.RSR as the search string then select them all all hit delete. It's quicker than trawling through the folders manually. H:)

just right click and arrange icons by type, then you should be able to drag select them all....which reminds me i must do mine LOL......Steve

Start --> run --> command (or cmd if you're not in Windows 9x), cdgeometry directory (i.e. cd "C:Program FilesMetaCreationsPoser 4RuntimeGeometries" (use those double-quotes, by the way), and then: del *.rsr /s That'll work, provided you're using a windows based machine. With 2k and XP some more useful dos commands were removed, but that should still work. I can't be the only dos nut around, can I?

EricofSD ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 9:22 PM

No, you're not the only dos nut around and the only thing I liked about XP was that it uninstalled and restored my old OS flawlessly.

whoopdat ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 9:44 PM

Heh, that's not saying much for XP then. I'm still using 2k, and I don't see myself "upgrading" any time soon. XP is mostly just visual changes anyway, aside from a few little things here and there that I don't need/don't want. Besides, 2k is rock solid for me. :)
