Subject: PPP Update Problems - Mac only

I had to re-install everything from scratch due to a hard disk crash last week. So I did a fresh install of Poser 4, entered my name and serial, then did an install of ProPack, entered my serial number, then downloaded PPP SR3 from CL's web site and have tried to install that too. The problem that I'm running into (twice now) is that the SR3 update times out before it installs. I have not moved either the Poser 4 install folder nor the PPP update. The first time I tried installing the SR3 update it was located on the Desktop. The second time I re-located the SR3 update into the Poser folder. Any suggestions? I'm also cc'ing this to CL for their help. TIA - scara

I remember having some probz with SR2 And 3...though 3 is a combined updater, have you tried using the previous 2, then SR3? And though this sounds odd, have you done the 4.03 p4 patch before upgrading to PPP? There are some small weird mac only Poser bugs....Hopes this helps.. Cheers, Basil

Yup, sounds like you didn't modify the Poser 4.0 installation with Poser4.0.3 update before upgrading to PPP. That will cause all sorts of unknown problems. Do a clean install and grab the updater off the Curiou Labs website.

Thanks, but my Poser CD installs version 4.03. Went to CL's web site but couldn't find SR2 - they only have SR3 available for download.

Have you tried installing with the base extensions only?
