Butch ( ) posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 2:03 PM · edited Mon, 10 February 2025 at 3:52 PM

After several crashes, completely failure of the modem and the lost of almost half of my harddrive, I am finally getting a new computer. It's a Dell, and I just ordered it. Whoopeee! Maybe at last I can get back to doing some rendering and work with poser. Butch

I am really happy about it. I have a gateway now, keeping my fingers crossed that it stays together till I get the Dell. I should have it in a week or ten days or so.... The next few days are going to be soooo long! It is like Christmas Eve, when I was little... Even at 43, I still get excited about stuff like this and Christmas Eve, Halloween, My birthday, and ...... butch

You know they always tell me about 10 days and I always get it in 4, so keep checking the status, you might have it by this weekend. Sharen

We've had a DELL for several years now - never been unhappy with it. Congratulations!

Great, congratulations! We have two Dells and I love them. I was never very happy with our Gateway though. Sharen is right; it might arrive faster than they said, so keep checking. I know how you feel, that's exactly the way I am when we get any kind of computer stuff! :)

Congrats on the new system, I know that's gotta feel great! Dells rock. I'm mainly a Mac user, but also own two Dells, and they have been very stable systems, I haven't had any trouble with them. At work all our PC's are Dells - their customer support is unparalleled, truly excellent service!

I worked at a call center that had all Dell computers for the employees to use at work. Those computers were always reliable. When I worked there, Microsoft Networks (MSN) was my company's largest client. Now Dell is. My former company does Dell customer service. I never used to recommend "off the shelf" computers, but I changed my mind when looking at the Dell web site, and the options you could choose. I've read some computer magazines, and they also recommend Dell. And, yes, I love those commercials!!! Ron Message671422.jpg

Does anybody suspect that Steve, the Dell spokesperson, is really the bastard son of Eddy Haskell from "Leave it to Beaver"?....maybe tripping on Ecstasy or something..... Leave it to Scarab

artnik ( ) posted Tue, 21 May 2002 at 2:21 AM

Eddy Haskell was the first person I thought of, the first time I laid eyes on Steve, the Dell dude. The ad campaign must be really successful if we're even bothering to discuss it here.
