Subject: It really sucks when people try and take credit for your hard work

Attached Link: A real Poser...

This is just a note to let everyone know how much it sucks to be browsing the gallery in this forum, and find an image rendered with one of your characters offered for download, only to find the person claiming that character as their own, and offering up the texuremap as if it were his own work. This really pisses me off! I mean, though the character (Ultimate Darth Maul in this case,) was made from many different props that were all brought together in a single character file, all credits to people who contributed are CLEARLY listed in the readme file both in the zip, and on my download page. Obviously, I can't complain really at all, because he is George Lucas's original character of course, that still doesn't make it any easier when I think of all the hours I spent trying to accurately map his facial tattoos, etc. Now Cadash, as he calls himself seems to think this is suddenly his own work, and not only doesn't credit me in the post, but insinuates that it is his 'original' work. And offers the texture map "available on request." Maybe I am overreacting, and I really don't want to start a lynch mob here, but come on... Here is cadash's post: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=4047&Start=397&Sectionid=0&WhatsNew=Yes co(V)(V)union

Although, are you sure it IS in fact your texture map? I mean, it could be a good copy. But then again, given Cadish's past record, it's probably yours. And I commend you for ASKING people before you put things in a download. I got an e-mail from you when you asked if you wanted my tricorder. (I have a remodeled version that is a bit closer. No buttons or anything on it yet, just a screen and some lights. If you or anyone else wants to use it, just e-mail me.)

It is totally 100% the character I did. I am absolutely positive. And I can prove it if need be. co(V)(V)union

I always thought it was a good character and was wondering about that .. I have it on one of my disks someplace but knew it was yours pretty much though there is another one out someplace ..

One thing about the Cadash Render...it looks real good. Your model and tex map are fantastic. But yeah, he's a real butmunch...and no one likes a butmunch. He made sure we all saw it 59 times too, which is a shame, because now when I see Darth_Maul it's like "Oh boy...here we go again..." Cadash embarasses the Dark Side of the Force. -Darth_LOgice

I feel your pain, Communion. (Though I should add that I know nothing about this particular situation.) What really, really sucks is when people take credit for your work and then sell it, too! (Especially when they didn't even pretend to modify or add anything to it.) Hummm... that felt good. I'm glad to be able to vent my frustration on people who understand. Thanks!

Well, I guess Cadash has taken his toys and gone home. I went to the link above(I was surprised, I thought the Dolphins image was his only one) and it has been deleted. After another completely childish e-mail to me in which he threatens me with his connections in the Federal Police who he apparently services computers for (and assuring me it is no threat)I am almost sad to see him go. "Almost" being the key word. Doesn't surprise me at all he is capable of stealing someone's work. He is great at criticizing others' work (His exact words to me were "you should seek help with An eye-specialist, as I think you were born with a very inadequate sense of colour and depth.")but apparently some things do meet with his approval. So he steals them.
